I don't know how or why it started. I don't ever generally go to KFC. But a group of us went out to lunch one day and ended up there since no one could decide on anything, and the driver grew tired of going in circles and pulled into the parking lot and said "Fuck all y'all. I'm hungry. I'm eating here."
Not really in the mood for chicken with bones in it. I decided to go for the $0.99 snacker sandwiches, one crispy, one buffalo. After scarfing them, I went for a another buffalo. I haven't been able to stop eating them since. Spicey enough for some real kick, not vinegary enough to cause a pucker, the sauce seemed pretty well balanced. The chicken was plump and juicy and not mostly breading as I would have expected. I was pleasantly shocked.
I have to say these may be the best value that fast food has to offer right now. I still think their commercials suck.

One question -- how many of these "snackers" would a gluttonous pig-man such as myself require to be satisfied?

those things look tiny in the commericials -- can't you get a white castle chicken sandwich for cheaper?
Uncle Remus
Mar 21 2006, 12:44 PM
they're almost double the size of the White Castle chicken sandwich and White Castle doesn't have the Buffalo one, so there ya go...

I thought exactly the same thing when I saw the thread title.
For the record, the spicy chicken sammich at Wendy's has no peer in the spicy poutry fast food category.

Like to try one, but the Wendy's by my house closed rather abruptly one day and was quickly boarded up.

You can get the chicken with the fiery buffalo sauce without the sandwich. I believe it comes in 6 piece and an 18 piece. That is what I am addicted to. The sandwiches don't have enough chicken.

Are the Colonel's Crispy Strips the same ones they use in the sandwiches? Or are they bigger? I noticed the price for a 3 strip package was higher than say 3 Snackers.
I'd like more hot and spicy options. But there isn't a Popeye's for light years from my home.

The commercials suck. Guy just wants to sit down and eat his lunch in peace. But his "buddies" berate him and strip him of every last ounce of his dignity. And I thought that firemen were supposed to stand together like brothers, not ridicule and taunt each other in such a cruel manner. I doubt this is an isolated incident. Looks like the scandals that have plagued the Chicago Fire Department are just the tip of the iceberg. I demand an investigation.

I've called Cortez Trotter regarding the issue. He wanted to know if I was from Fox News.

There was already a thread about the commerical? I missed it and can't figure out which thread you're talking about now.

You think you've got it bad? I drive past the King's Hawaiian Bakery/Restaurant on the way to my Daughter's place in Santa Monica. I can get rolls, buns, the loaf in the foil pan & sliced sandwich loaves, all in the choice of original or whole wheat. And they make incredible Hawaiian cakes & pasteries, too!

Who cares about chicken and Hawaiian bread (too sweet to be bread...too blah to be cake). Freddie, what are those Italian pastries that the Sopranos' crew goes on about? They say it fast, but it sounds like "spork-yadel."
