Coheed and Cambria is an American progressive rock band formed in Nyack, New York in 1995.[1] The band originally went by the band name "Shabűtie", however, the band changed its name to Coheed and Cambria when drummer Nate Kelley left the band.

Coheed and Cambria's albums are concept albums, revealing the plot of a science fiction storyline called The Amory Wars, a series of comics, written by lead singer Claudio Sanchez. To date, the band has released four studio albums, two live albums, and various special-edition releases, with their latest release being Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow in 2007. In 2008 the band held a series of 4 day shows in which they played all 4 studio albums in succession. The events took place in New York, Chicago, LA, and London. The shows will be released in a DVD box set known as "The Children of the Fence" in March 2009.

Although originally forming as a rock trio in 1995, New York's Coheed and Cambria officially took root in 2001, shedding their former name of Shabutie and embracing a fusion of progressive rock, emocore, and highly conceptual album themes. Vocalist/guitarist Claudio Sanchez, guitarist Travis Stever, bassist Michael Todd, and drummer Joshua Eppard issued their group's full-length debut, 2002's The Second Stage Turbine Blade, on the Albany-based Equal Vision Records. The band toured extensively for more than a year in support of the album, which was created as the second installment (although the band's first release) of a five-part fictional saga about the doomed marriage of two characters, Coheed and Cambria, whose children may or may not be infected with a serum whose power can destroy the universe. The Amory Wars, a detailed graphic novel series written by Sanchez himself, further explains the band's science fiction narratives.

In fall 2003, Coheed and Cambria issued In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3. The vibrant sophomore effort (part three of the five-part saga) resulted in moderate success on the Billboard charts, with the singles "A Favor House Atlantic" and "Blood Red Summer" faring well on such media outlets as MTV. Coheed and Cambria subsequently toured North America with Thursday, Thrice, AFI, and Rainer Maria. They also joined the tenth annual Warped Tour in summer 2004 and embarked on their first headlining European tour, whose dates coincided the success of the "Favor House Atlantic" single. The invigorated band then returned with Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV, Vol. 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness in September 2005; the album (part four) was also the first installment of a two-part conclusion to the band's running sci-fi story line. Released by Columbia Records, it hit number seven on Billboard's Top 200, partially due to the success of "The Suffering" and "Welcome Home." All was not well within the group, however, and both bassist Michael Todd and drummer Josh Eppard departed in 2006. While the band paused to sort out its future, Equal Vision released the debut from Sanchez's indie electronic solo project, the Prize Fighter Inferno, that October. Entitled My Brother's Blood Machine, the album continued in the tradition of Sanchez's primary group, spinning a tale of three families in a story that pre-dates the Coheed/Cambria saga and is narrated by Inferno (aka Jesse, Coheed's brother). Meanwhile, Sanchez and Stever decided to carry on and, bolstered by the return of Todd and the temporary enlistment of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, began recording their fourth album, Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV, Vol. 2: No World for Tomorrow. Praxis is the name of an ever-changing musical project, led by prolific producer Bill Laswell. Praxis combine elements of different musical genres such as funk, jazz, hip-hop and heavy metal into highly improvised music. First appearing in 1992 with the critically acclaimed Transmutation (Mutatis Mutandis), Laswell, guitarist Buckethead, keyboardist Bernie Worrell and drummer Brain have defined the direction of the band over the last 15 years. The group worked with many other artists such as Serj Tankian from System of a Down, Iggy Pop, and Les Claypool.

notching up some 100 releases under a slew of
pseudonyms including Droid and Iron Soul touching
bass on Dubstep and myriad other post-garage
mutated variants. Whether working in
collaboration with Hatcha on the Brothers Grim
project or providing beats for Durrty Goodz,
Kromestar has nailed the sound of street level
dubstep & grime and his beats are consequently in
high demand. Released recently on his mate's Dub
Star imprint, 'My Sound' is his first long player
and surprisingly rammed with fresh-off-the-block
riddims surpassing much of his previous output.
Without the requirements for instant dancefloor
gratification, he allows himself to piece
together a set of deeper smoking joints with an
overriding sense of skunky melancholy seeping
through the hovering synth pads and blue melodica
vibes. His riddims are as usual, quite
exceptional, saving some of his leanest and
sub-ducked patterns for this CD from the sick
wobbler 'System log' to tru dub shuffle riddims
on '8 Ball' or post R'n'B slink on 'Aston
Martin'. This surely ranks with Cyrus' 'From The
Shadows' as one of the best dubstep LP's from
this end of the spectrum and comes recommended to
all followers of the authentic dubstep sound.
