Wow. So, chromosomally speaking, (and I ask this will all respect and acknowledging the peculiar way we think about race in this country), what race are you? Like if you had to put it down on a census form or something like that, which box would you check.
Also, apart from sensitivity to UV (and what I would imagine is heigtened risk for various forms of skin cancer), are there other health issues that are unique to 'persons with albinism' (that's going to be the last time I go PC, as it reminds me too much of Steve Albini)?
Ok, thx in advance.
Chromosomally speaking I am Black since both of my parents are.
My biggest health obstacle (aside from a few extra pounds) is my poor vision. By the numbers I am considered legally blind. I think my vision is at 20/200 or something like that. I tend to sunburn very easily which means I'm indoors most of the summer months. Once again why do I live in Texas? HA! My first year here I got a pretty bad sunburn in March.
Heath cissues can vary from person to person. Some people just have minor vision issues to complete blindness.
Here's a good resource website that has a ton of information if you want to know more.
