Campaigner's previous thread, Shakey II - Neil Young Discography, inspired me to do the same but of course with a different artist.
Here is a link to Campaigner's thread.
http://soundopinions.org/forum/index.php?s...7&hl=shakeyI would do pretty much the same thing giving a summary of an album including my own opinions on each track and hopefully find a link to the album as well. I wouldn't be starting the project until June when I have more time on my hands but until then I was hoping you guys could tell me who you wanted Shakey III to be on. I was thinking someone like Bowie or Dylan.
Give me your thoughts.

Mitch has been promising to do Dylan forever. If he doesn't try hurting you, go for it.

Mitch if it's all right with you then I would love to either do it or help you do it. I am going to be having a pretty long summer with way too much free time on my hands so I am trying to fill it up with as many projects as possible.

Dylan first. Maybe Stones sometime in the future. The very distant future.

These threads are always fun (I've certainly enjoyed my Ryan Adams thread..) and informative. Would you include uploads or not? It's not essential but it has the potential to enhance discussion.
I don't think you should call it "Shakey III" however since Shakey is a Neil Young pseudonym... wouldn't make much sense to call a Dylan or a Bowie or a Stones thread "Shakey III"

Okay well I don't know what I would call it yet. And I would definitely be including uploads for the reason that you already stated.

I'm starting mine on Dylan's birthday. I've been working on notes for it for over a year now.

and no, it won't be a thread containing links to every Dylan album.
You cheap cunts.

We could always have two Dylan threads: Mitchell's and then the one without all the self righteous twaddle.

I just checked a Dylan book out from the library. I definitely underestimated this project. It would take years and years of work to even give a Dylan thread justice. Quite an amazing guy. Mitch is you need any help please do ask. Oh, and as for the links. Maybe some of the more, I hate to say important but I am saying it anyway, albums should have a link. For example you can't have people shuffling through and not giving them a link to Highway 61 Revisited and/or Blonde on Blonde. There are a few essentials that should be given a link too. But we can argue about this until our throats internally bleed and I don't really feel like it right now. It's going to be your thread, I suppose, so do what you want with it and I am going to be eagerly awaiting your final product.

As a lesser alternative, you can always post links to related bootlegs. (Studio outtakes, relevant tours, etc.) There's a bunch that Dylan sites maintain to ensure people listen to boots for free instead of buying them.
Besides, with Dylan, bootlegged material is a necessity.
