Hi, y'all.
I recently heard a song that sounds reminiscent of the first two-and-a-half minutes of Iggy & the Stooges' "I'm Sick of You," but with a more rugged, throaty vocal style. I'm hoping the more underground-punk-informed audience of this board can help me out in finding artists or songs like this. I heard it on some random internet radio station and did not think to keep track of the lyrics at the time. But basically, I'm looking for bands with this bluesy, slow-rock style of punk. I posted this request on the b9 board, but from the abundance of "boobs & ass" related topics, I don't expect to gain much useful information. Additionally, I apologize if this is not in the right subforum.
Thanks!

Dunno if any of this is what you're after, but what comes to mind:
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Gun Club/ Jeffery Lee Pierce
Social Distortion
Pussy Galore
Royal Trux

Thanks for the suggestions! I don't believe any of those bands are exactly what I am looking for, but Pussy Galore seems a step in the right direction.

All right, this board has given me some good suggestions, so I thought I'd return the favor.
Here's a list of songs that remind me in some way of I'm Sick of You, post-1981. They're not all exactly underground punk and some are a stretch but this might be a starting point for you:
Black Lips - Trapped in a Basement
Black Mountain - Angels
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Loaded Gun
The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Wisdom
Dan Auerbach - When I Left the Room
Dead Confederate - The Rat
Fugazi - Promises
The Jesus & Mary Chain - Cut Dead/Some Candy Talking/Sowing Seeds
The Magnetic Fields - Till the End
Spaceman 3 - Things'll Never Be the Same
The Vaselines - Slushy
Maybe also some Psychedelic Furs, but I don't have too much of their stuff.

Patti Smith? fits this mold.

Thanks, all, for the further suggestions. After re-familiarizing myself with Pussy Galore, I retract my earlier statement of that being in the right direction. I'm thinking less post-punk, more in the hardcore-influenced realm.
