"Its like a old asian traditional porno....its hilarious, I need that shit."

Wow... Really like the direction this show is taking:

Direct from Twitter's own Kenny fucking Powers. You guys order those K Swiss tubes yet?

EDIT for proper visualization:

amnesious
Only ten more days motherfuckers.

This is going to sink or swim on the supporting cast. Total balls that they're completely stripping the thing down to the lead character, which I admire. But this season has potential to be an absolute failure. Jody Hill hasn't let me down yet, I'm rooting for him.
velocity
Yeah, the more of these little glimpses I see, I'm less & less enthused. Hope to be proved wrong.
amnesious
Stevie is still gonna be around. That is enough for me to be excited.
Bob Loblaw
That was a disaster. I don't remember actually laughing once, just saying "that's funny" a time or two.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed too. I think I had about 2 or 3 chuckles. Does seem to be more of a tone-setting episode, but the new setting/characters didn't work much at all (esp Deep Roy's one-note character...zzzz). I was hooked from the start on the first season and it became one of my all-time favorite shows--hopefully the rest of the season coheres into something worthy of what they started.
amnesious
It definately wasn't that funny. I didn't mind it though. I'm hoping the rest of the season picks up and that Stevie gets the fuck down there.
MattW
Pretty much my expectation. The midget was ok, but there was next to nothing from the supporting cast. KP can hold an episode together, but he needs contributions from others. I wished Pedro was going to say something good. We'll see, I'll still watch.
MuteSuperstar
Now we're talkin'.
Episode 2 was glorious.

"Flying buttresses"
amnesious
Yeah, it was ok. Still not as funny as anything from the first season. Great opening though.
MattW
That episode was pretty great and on par with last season.
_______
i'm having the exact opposite reaction with the new season... no real story line, too much Kenny fuckin P in your face, and still no interesting supporting characters.

i'm about to give up on this show.
tager
Fantastic! The scene of him walking out to the mound was great.
biggie mcsmalls
The "Best of the Best" joke last night was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.
caley
Haven't got to the 4th episode yet, but as far as the first three, each episode has been better than the preceding one. The third episode has been my favourite so far and given me my new sig.
C.I.
everything from the moment kenny walked into the dugout until the end of the last episode was perfect.

i was pretty disappointed by the first two eps this season but I feel like it's on track now.
MattW
Is this season just 6 episodes again? This certainly feels like the bowels of the 2nd act right now the same way the BBQ episode in season 1 felt.
amnesious
This has been gettin better and better. The end of the last ep was pretty fucking depressing but the whole episode was the funniest yet.

I think it is only six episodes.
C.I.
I feel like I read somewhere that this season is going to be 7 or 8 eps rather than 6. I really have no verification for that, though.
_______
giving up on this show... it's a snoozefest without all the characters from the first season.
amnesious
There is prob only two episodes left, you may as well watch them if your a fan. The last two have been really good I think.

FALSE! The show has been fantastic, possibly better than the first season.
MattW
I really love Vida's kid. The character itself is so thoroughly saddening and tragic. And nothing but his presence in a scene raises the stakes.
MattW
The last two episodes have been as good as anything in the first season. I hope that's not all DJ does on the show.
amnesious
Yeah I agree.

Spoiler/NSFW: click to show/hide
Im thinking that he will begin his journey back to the US in the next episode to go and see April again and that the next season will be back in that town again. If that is the case I reckon there will only be 1 more season.
The Sheck
I was listening to the Doug Loves Movies podcast and someone from the cast was on there and said that the writers envisioned a three-season story arc...so there will be one more, most likely.
Ogawa
"Same old Kenny. 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag. And friends with faggots."
Hans Christian Anderson
back for a 3rd...

still need to see S2 one day...
C.I.
more excited about Bored to Death getting a third season. That might be my favorite show in television right now
MattW
The last episode could be terrible and Season 2 would still be a success. I'm very pleasantly surprised.
amnesious
The last episode was fucking great. This season is totally on par with the first season. Great stuff, can't wait for the third.
theremin
Does the pope blow little kids?
Ogawa
Wonderful finale. Most positive episode of the entire series. Am I alone in thinking this was better than the first season?

(though not necessarily as funny)
amnesious
Yeah it might be. When I watch em again I'll probably make my mind up.

I rewatched the first season recently and it is probably funnier as a whole, especially the fifth episode. The scenes at Ashley Schaffer BMW are ridiculously funny, especially Schaffer's monologue about having sex with his wife.
C.I.
I don't think that was the finale

So funny, i might have liked this season even more...the speech he gives in the baseball locker was fantastic. And the cameo of the "Scout" was great too. "I suck my dreams' cock"
Ogawa
Ah, ok. I was mistaken. Same with Bored to Death, which I also thought ended last night. I guess there's 2 more episodes of that show, and one more of Eastbound.
Brominated
No, Eastbound is done. Bored to Death should have two more episodes.

There was a preview for next week's season finale.

I didn't laugh as much this season, but the laughs I had were definitely more satisfying.

I hope the scout comes back next season.

WTF? Awesome.

I imagine they are going to crush whatever positivity came out of the last episode then and put KP back to square one.
Brominated
Wow, that is really good to hear!
amnesious
Pretty good ending to the season, sets up well for the next one. It was definately one of the funniest episodes of the season, esp Stevie's reactions to the Mexican's in his house, I lol'd big time at that. Season 3 can't come soon enough.
MattW
Great season.
Brominated
I really enjoy how this show manages to deal with Kenny's more serious issues. Primarily through some of the soundtrack choices. One of those moments, which sticks out from earlier in this season, was his roller-coaster ride. What a fantastic scene that was.

It's difficult describing this show as purely comedic, even though it essentially is. It's a classic dark comedy series, I suppose.

I can't wait until Season 3.

Yeah, that was one of the highlights of the season for sure.

It's a dark comedy that depends mightily on the total suspension of disbelief. I ask you, how many times every 5 minutes would that guy get a beatdown in real life? Most shows don't push it anywhere close to that extent. Which is one of the things that make it so funny, I guess.
