Don't Date Him Girl

A friend just sent me a link to this site, interesting to say the least. Good idea in theory, but from what I was able to find it doesn't appear that there is any control over who gets added to the database. Any girl can post any guy's name, photo, and city to warn other girls away from him. Pretty fucking scary that they anyone can get thrown up on that site, whether they actually did cheat or not.

Thing that bothered me the most was one story in the site's blog that talked about a girl who sent a guy into the database and claimed he had given her an STD. He wrote them to complain, saying that he did cheat but he's never had an STD and he wanted that part removed. They made him not only fax his test results to them, but the site also contacted the lab directly to confirm them before they would remove the allegations.

For all the good the internet does, it seems like something like this could completely ruin a guy's life. The obvious answer is don't cheat, well... duh, but the idea that any girl can post any guy on this site without any verification is pretty scary.

Thought about that, but I thought it would be interesting to throw it out there for discussion.

that site is somewhat hilarious. but just ranks in there with the millions of other things i hate about women.

if some dudes started thisbitchiscrazy.com, there'd be riots in the streets.

All that remains is to determine if you're going to be the guy setting up the website, or the guy who's the subject of the website. I suggest both. It's a lot less work.

There's a difference. Murder suspects have at least formally been arrested by a law enforcement agency and charged by a state's attorney. The guys on this site haven't...they just pissed a girl off.

I've never cared for the term "cheating." It's a glib, juvenile euphemism and more evidence of societal dumbing-down.

As for the website, it's a bad idea. There are more and worse kinds of betrayal than spending time with the wrong person. And what's next--"www.CastratingBitch"? "www.BoringInBed"? "www.TooVanilla"? "www.FlaccidDick"?

The best one I saw was with a couple gay dudes in NYC who got into this huge blow out fight, chasing each other down the street, throwing cups of coffee at each other, the whole nine yards. Then they see some B-level celebrity walking down the street, stop the fight, and start screaming like little girls and chasing after the celebrity to get a better look, all with the Cheaters cameras following them.

Ok, so yeah, I got schooled on that other thread and people made some very good points. But is my shock at this website really that unbelievable? I mean, its not like anonymous posting on the internet is a new idea or anything, but this site has a visibility level and lack of oversight that leaves me pretty much shocked.

It just struck me that it's so easy to emphasize with a potentially wrongly-convicted man in regard to this issue but not to the other, where the stakes are so much higher. Maybe the ugly nature of the specific incident in question in the other thread just heated it up to that point.
But yeah, I basically agree with everyone else in regards to this thread - not the best way to deal with these things.
