can't find a thread relating to the original versions of the reissues, but they had lots of faults on them re the recordings/ mastering
anyway rhino/ warners are to re-release the collectors editions with these faults corrected.

They will be free of charge, right?
I actually picked up
Brotherhood and
Technique, though I don't remember noticing any problems.

Low-Life is the one that had the most problems, basically a lot of slight record pops smattered throughout the bonus tracks. Still wasn't distracting enough to keep it from being an absolute revelation for me...that 12" version of "The Perfect Kiss", a tiny bit longer than the version heard on Substance, actually makes one of the most perfect songs ever recorded even more perfect.

there were missing parts of songs, bad mastering, a lot of popping, drop outs in one channel...
it wasn't at the standard that the original material warranted
no denying that some of the bonus tracks are essential (tpk as highlighted was the full 8mins 51 version on the bonus disc of low life, as compared with the edited down 8 mins 02 on substance) but want them in the best possible version available - i've got better versions done by fans than the ones done by the professionals responsible for the original remasters
