The Good Dr Bill
The internet provides no greater thrill than a leaf through a detailed and well-written Wikipedia page. Here are some of my favorites:

Aqua Teen Hunger Force (fairly rudimentary but some surprisingly insightful character analysis)
List of neologisms on The Simpsons (a glorious list of all the great phrases or fictional titles coined by The Simpsons)
Internet Troll (everything you could possibly want to know about the history and critical response to the Internet Troll phenomenon)
Duran Duran (the band given a surprisingly fully-fleshed bio, plus much deserved sections on their importance and influence)
List of Number One Hits (your quick one-stop guide to the history of the #1 US single. See also: List of Number One Hits (UK) and List of Number One Rock Hits)

any other personal favorites here?

beautiful thread.

the massively detailed analysis of gwen stefani's
hollaback girl is pretty hilarious.
Josh Acid
There are some surprisingly good entries on individual mid-'60s Beach Boys albums. The contrast in style between Today and Summer Days & Summer Nights is explored in great detail.

It still needs some cleaning up but Karl Pilkington is a good read and I really must make an effort to finishing editing it.

The pages for Johnny Cash and This Charming Man are pretty great.

It's still there

i was glancing at this one on the Colbert Report the other day and noted a few things that I hadn't known before including...

~"The Colbert character has an unexplained phobia of bears, which he refers to as "godless killing machines without a soul". In an interview on the NPR program Fresh Air, Colbert said that his character's fear of bears is based on his real life childhood nightmare of bears mauling him in his sleep."

~"Colbert frequently refers to O'Reilly as his mentor and calls him "Papa Bear" in an endearing manner — a nickname with an ironic double-meaning, as Colbert frequently states that he considers bears to be the number-one threat to America today."

Internet Troll (everything you could possibly want to know about the history and critical response to the Internet Troll phenomenon)

I spent the last hour or so reading this and other articles that were linked from it.

I have contributed to this page, but I think it needs to be split because it is getting too large.

I always thought PappaWheelie was just some random ILM dude with the most sexy of file archives that I shanked stuff from on Soulseek.
I really like the Baha Men controversy bit.

God Bless Wikipedia... shedding light on parts of my life that I took for granted entirely.

Wow, did this article ever get revised since I first read it. It used to be four or five times as long as this, I'm sure.

Godzilla! More info about G than you probably ever needed.
Paul
Characters in Arrested Development

It links to the character given the most information.
Melted Cheese
Gotta dig careful insight like this:

"Shake has been charged with Driving under the influence on at least one occasion. Its unlikely that he ever had a drivers licence."

...

I like this pretty extensive list of "internet celebrity phenomena"... the "non-celebrity" section especially has some bizarre links.

Strange category, and some great articles in the category. I especially like June and Jennifer Gibbons.

I think there was an episode of Eerie, Indiana or Are You Afraid of the Dark? with a similar concept (except the murdered dog was a person who died in an accident. and i don't think any revenge occured. just started acting exactly like the person who died. so really, not all that similar).

I definitely don't remember a badly-animated egg coming out of him like that. You'd see him squat, then the camera would cut to a close-up of his chest, panning down his body to reveal a big egg beneath him.

I don't know if this is true but it reads pretty funny. This is in regards to the Factory Girl movie about Edie Sedgweick.

QUOTE
The film has also sparked up news as Lou Reed, a member of the Velvet Underground and friend of Edie's, has publicly told the New York Daily News, "I read that script. It's one of the most disgusting, foul things I've seen - by any illiterate retard - in a long time. There's no limit to how low some people will go to write something to make money", as well as "They're all a bunch of whores." Despite this diatribe, Reed agreed to license his song "Heroin" to the producers for the price tag of three hundred thousand dollars.

Don't know if it's been posted. It really deserves a thread of it's own.
