I respect your opinion Biggie, but Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, and David Lee as your three best players aren't contending for shit.

Let's bump this in two or three years, then.

I'll be happy to.

Actually probably really unhappy if this is really how things turn out for the Bulls. Haha.

Just sayin'. Lee thankfully isn't what panned out, but would the Bulls be in a different place right now if he would have been signed? Boozer & Noah have missed a lot of time. This season has been the Derrick Rose show.

You guys are nuts. Rose has only been in the league for two years, and never had a complete roster around him or a real coach.

if you think rose can win a championship (which should be your goal in pro sports every year) with a starting other 4 of noah-lee-boozer-deng/gibson then youre an idiot

I am so dumb.

Biggie was more of an optimist than I was and ended up being on the right track. Kudos. I always knew D. Rose would be great, but I did not foresee this kind of leap in his ability to score/be a leader/close out games, etc.

My attitude going into last summer was if you couldn't land one of the "big three" then you could hopefully rely on Boozer or another power forward as well as Joe Johnson who acted like he really wanted to play in Chicago. Atlanta offering that max contract sort of took the wind out of my sails, and in my defense, shooting guard has been the area where we have struggled the most. Although it clearly hasn't been a crippling deficiency so far.

At this point, I hope I was completely wrong and the Bulls make it to the finals. That's all I can say.

I'm mostly impressed with how accurate this turned out to be.

Luol is thriving in Thib's system. Very active on defensive, and, with the exception of the Dallas game, the dude has been really efficient on offense. Very excited for him.

I thought it would be a nice fun year around the #3-4 slot with Orlando, but I didn't expect them to be in the top tier with Boston and Miami. Even if they come up short, this has been an awesome year. I assumed Rose was going to mature a little, but no I did not see this year's performance coming. And I did not expect Thibs to be this good of a coach, maximizing the talent the way he has schematically.

deng was good last year as well, but nobody seemed to notice because the team wasn't nearly as good

i did not see this level of improvement in play from rose either. and there's still more upside to his game

Deng took a lot more dumb shots last year.

Deng took a lot more dumb shots last year.

i assume you mean long 2s? 'cause that was certainly a flaw in his game that was actually encouraged by skiles. thibs has done well to ask him to take a step or two back and shoot the 3-ball. like rose, unfortunately, the work he has done to become a deep threat has been offset by deterioration in other areas of his scoring. i expect both to balance it out better next year
MattW
Deng just didn't seem to be included in anything VDN was drawing up, if you call that drawing anything up. Thibs seems to understand what he has with Deng.
biggie mcsmalls
Deng has been better at attacking this year, as well.

VDNs offense was a lot of iso, beat your man off the dribble stuff, which did not suit Deng at all.
