I've got a really busy day today, but I might actually be down in the city at about this time. Figure I might stop by. I don't have tickets.
Edit: I have to stop at someone's house...Randolph and the highway...if the timing works out, I guess I'll definitely pop over there.

Had to dig around to find a good link for this but I've managed to find it. They've got a few EPs, any that you guys would recommend in particular?

Liar's actually the only one I have, love that album so I don't know why I haven't gotten any others yet.

Considering King Kahn couldnt seem to keep his yam in his pants last year, I'd be shocked if Yow even wears clothes onstage.

In the crotch of Wrigleyville on NYE is pretty much the last place in the world I want to be. And you can be assured there will be a blizzard that night too.
In any case, I'll be perfectly content with having seen them twice this year (and for far less than $60). See you guys out there tomorrow; Ill be eating my Wheaties for breakfast.

I cannot imagine it not being at least 18+, in December. Nor can I wait. I don't actually have tickets, for either of this weekend's shows. I figured I'd save my money for the grand finale. To hell with Wrigleyville, yeah, but it'll be a great show. Once I catch a bus home, I'm free from the abyss, (mostly) unscathed.

The crowd dropped Yow at some point during the second encore. They had to stop before what I'm assuming would have been some other song and then "Blockbuster." I'm pretty sure he ended up going to the hospital.

Are you guys serious??? I wake up, kick around for a while, come online, and find this? Fuck. I hope that he's okay and that tonight's show can go on and be as ludicrous as it should be. I am glad that I didn't buy tickets, but would be happiest to hear, come tomorrow, that it turns out I should've spent the money. Let us know if you hear anything.

"I didn't see the spill, but Yow was clearly in pain as he walked off the stage. A friend later told me that he had it on good information that he was taken to the hospital with an unspecified rib injury."
Fuck. Come on Friday attendees, you gotta hold up your simple end of the bargain for those of us with Saturday tix (in other words, dont drop the Yow).

Awful. Fuck, guys. I am so sorry. Gotta hope for the best, I guess. I'm curious to hear from anybody who has tickets to the show, about this--would you rather them go ahead with tonight's show with Yow at less than 100% (assuming that this is, in fact, the case), or wait a month for a rescheduled date?
At this point, if there are two broken ribs, I'm even nervous about the NYE show. Fuck. Who the shit dropped him, for fuck's sake? Shoulda smeared the guy.

Take a wild guess:
"So during the last song, the second encore, while Yow was crowd surfing, apparently he got passed to two small girls who got out of the way and he fell to the floor from like 6 or 7', landing on his chest."
I hate girls.
And yea, the NYE show is far from a sure thing. If they cancel tonight, I'd put it in serious doubt. Broken ribs are a bitch to recover from.

Paves - you MUST find a way to buy a high quality photo of that picture. Put a nice frame around it, and that's a great collector's item. Its not often where you can get a photo of yourself with a rock legend in such a cool way.

Ahhh, so now the stool from the Sat night show makes complete sense.
Anyway, I thought they sounded great - as good, if not better than the 90's.
A bit less lively than the Fri show looked, but who can blame the guy?
That version of Blockbuster they closed with absolutely killed.

Last night was electric. I talked to some people who saw Yow on the sidewalk before the performance and said he looked visibly sick. Im not sure if you noticed, but when they brought his stool out they also brought a trash can on stage, which I can only assume was there in case he felt the need to puke. Yow sat on the stool for the first song, and then at the tail end of it jumped into the crowd for a brief surf. The place went absolutely nuts and I dont think the commotion died down for the rest of the performance. When Yow got back on stage he looked to be in visible pain again, but he spent almost the entire rest of the performance on his feet and you would never have known something was wrong. I wasnt there for Friday so I cant do a comparison, but while I can only assume Fri had more theatrics, the energy last night was unreal. I look at it like Jordan's "flu game"...with the amount of pain he must have been in, Yow put on one of the best shows I've ever witnessed.
Also, I've heard a rumor that both of these performances may be committed to DVD.

Gonna file a few complaints just for the hell of it:
1) Who are the assholes at these shows making sure that nobody in the first several rows is able to move from the second "Puss" kicks in? Is that caused by the poor excuse for a "mosh pit"? I'm all for rocking out at these things, as I am wont to do just that, but I just can't imagine trying to start shit at them or be pushy or anything. So big congrats to the people who do, I guess.
2) It's probably my fault for seeing all three 2009 Chicago dates thus far, but some variation in the setlist would have been nice. Aside from "Chrome" and a few Shot and Down songs that were interesting to hear, when compared with the Pitchfork Festival performance, these Metro shows were less essential than I hoped they would be. Still nothing from the second half of Goat! No "Pastoral" or "One Evening," the two best songs on Head, IMHO. I was hoping so hard for the latter because they did it at P4k and it was amazing. No "One Evening" + Duane's new mustache = gonna have to go w/ the festival performance as the more thrilling experience, unfortunately.
Nevertheless... I'm fucking glad I went to both shows. If anybody wants to sell me a New Years ticket for half price, I'll take it.
