I don't think a thread like this already exists. And if it does, mods feel free to collapse this one with that one. But, I was thinking it would nice to have a thread where we could keep each other posted on good deals, online, in stores, and otherwise on CDs and LPs.
To start it off, I saw that over on
Shockhound, the have a vinyl deal going of "Buy One Get One Free". I was googling "Pig Lib" on vinyl and it took me to that site.
Anyone ordered from Shockhound before?

I actually just ordered a bunch of stuff from Shockhound a couple of days ago after finding the B1G1 sale by accident - from what i understand, it's a website run by the Hot Topic folks. I'll let you know how the transaction goes...

I'm going to jump on top of that. As well as Phoenix's "It's Never Been Like That", which is selling for $75 on Amazon marketplace. I advise everyone else to do the same.
Update: I just tried to buy 2 Phoenix's at once and it did not give me one free. It turns out that you have to have one record that is lower price that the other.

I hope some of you guys took advantage of that Shockhound vinyl sale (and by the looks of it, I think some did: "It's Never Been Like That" is among the Top 5 sellers), because I don't think it's running anymore. I went back to the site tonight to see if I could entice myself and that banner ad is gone.
I'm glad I took advantage. I got that cheap Neil Young album, "Ritual De La Habitual", "Pig Lib" (OOP?), "Real Emotional Trash", and two copies of "It's Never Been Like That". Got my shipping confirmations yesterday, and should have within the business week.
Anyone get anything?

My Shockhound order came yesterday via FedEx, well packed to boot (other than a god-awful "prepare thyself to rock" sticker). I'll definitely keep a lookout for sales from them in the future. Got Kill The Moonlight, Dig Me Out, Guitar Romantic, and The Attic Tapes for $30 shipped...

Just got my 4 records from Shockhound.com as well. Cost like a little less than 40 bucks altogether.
The Avalanches- Since I Left You
T. Rex- Electric Warrior
Neil Young- Tonight's The Night
Elliott Smith- Speed Trials 7"
Would encourage other people to take advantage of the deal. The boxes were huge and came in insane amounts of bubble wrap, and yes, the sticker on the front was godawful and unnecessary. Made me cringe to think of the postman seeing it.

Has anyone ordered from Tower.com lately? I was browsing on their site and noticed some vinyl that should be OOP, but they list a price and say 3-5 weeks shipping. Sounds like they don't have it and haven't updated their site. Or maybe I could get lucky. Anyone use Tower.Com lately? (Yeah, as in Tower Records, as in still in business...kinda).

Two Bits:
This has to be an online fuck-up:
LP Version Pure Genius: The Complete Atlantic Records Ray Charles: $18.99 8 discs? DVD? Hell, even if it's the CD version this is a helluva deal.
Also, Matador Records is selling the first 4 2CD Pavement reissues as a package deal for $44.00 on their webstore.
Also, I got my Shockhound order. Is that Neil Young album a reissue or the old record? There is no markings on it to suggest that it was recently made...?

was also very happy w/ how well my Shockhound order was packed (i HATE ordering vinyl online, so often stuff comes pretty bent up)
however... fuck DeepDiscount.
i got my shipment for Archives Vol. 1 and it was in this tiny little box, which had me a bit confused. I open it up and what's inside? Monk Season 7 on DVD? W T F. So i call and bitch a bit, and the girl tells me that the blu-ray of Archives is no longer available from their distributor... which to me means "oh shit, we fucked up and you shouldn't have been able to buy it for $178 when it's MSRP is $349. *sigh*

Vinyl Collective is running their annual "Going Out Of Business Sale" (yes yes, very clever) through August 17, with codes for $3 off a $10 purchase, $10 off $30, and $35 off $100. You have to slog through a whole lot of punk and emo crap, but they stock a lot of great stuff...
