Good to see turn out bolster overnight with some great lists. I'm thinking this year is going to be the most schizo yet for this list and maybe the best.
Good to see another vote for 'Daily Record May 18th 1993' I can't remember the last time I laughed and grinned as much on a first play. Especially funny considering maybe only Badger, Bruegel and I are old enough Brits (or in my case, nerd) to remember most of that stuff.

No Blue Roses Bobz?
I don't think there was a single person or event mentioned in that song that registered with me at all. But like several other singles on my list (HEALTH, Big Pink, Electrik Red) I voted for it because it sounded like a cool single from the early-mid 90s, a period I for some reason never thought would be given its proper retro due.
Very surprised that Blue Roses isn't doing better--seems pretty firmly up this board's alley. Lack of exposure thing? I certainly wouldn't have heard it if it wasn't on your mix/list.

Speaking for myself, the Blue Roses album was a grower. In fact, it's still growing. As a result, I never thought of any those songs in the context of singles, and really I had no clue as to which ones were released as such until Mitchell's list showed up. I could have plugged them in an effort to get to 100 I suppose, but I guess she/they never spoke to me that way.
I largely tried to avoid the "what songs off of albums that I like were singles?" method of making my list. I'm certain there's a video or even a physical release for a bunch of songs that I liked but didn't list because I couldn't be bothered to investigate or it just didn't feel like a single.

'I Am Leaving' originally came out under her Laura Groves name in 2007 and when it was released this year as Blue Roses, with the excellent b-side 'Moments Before Sleep', it didn't have a new video. Oh well.

it was probably eligible this year under the usual rules, but light of love was released as a single during the summer of 08. great song, best on that album, but it made a bigger impact in 08 (at least for me) than it did in 09.
