I feel like this record is going to be incredible. I can't contain my excitement.

His is a music most sublime - a simultaneous cotinuation/inversion of the true Romantic spirit, like the Caspar David Friedrich of the guitar.

If it in fact does turn out to be his last album, this will be the only time in my life when I have been actively anticipating a new release by one of my favourite artists of all time. (This Heat and Creedence are dead, Steely Dan are no longer Steely Dan, Coltrane has been absorbed back into infinity)

Everyone knows he is a devil of a man, but the fact that music of such vision and beauty can emanate from one so pronouncedly horrible and corrupted is fascinating in itself, no?

I have a bad feeling that it will be either completely horrible or just middling. I can't see him not screwing this up, as much as I want to believe otherwise. sad.gif

I'm assuming this will be all electronic. right?

QUOTE
The music can best be compared to the music of some of the old Burzum albums; in particular the ground breaking "Hvis Lyset Tar Oss" and the atmospheric brilliances of "Filosofem", only the ambient parts present on these albums has been almost completely left out on "Belus".

I'm curious, but still skeptical. Remember how mediocre Dissection's last album was after Nödtveidt got out of jail.

(insert 'maybe that means Varg will off himself too' comment here)

Also kind of unsure about this one, it's a decade and a half since he was recording his classic stuff. That sales pitch sounds awesome and if it's half as good as that sounds it'll still be incrdible.

We'll see I guess.
