Full Version: Singles Thread Oh Ten

I don't know about the rest of you but I don't really pay attention to what new songs are singles or anything like that, I just listen to the albums. Of course albums are a much bigger time investment than single songs, so I inevitably don't hear some things I might have liked. And I'm always overwhelmed when it's time to make my singles list. Therefore I make this thread for any good singles released throughout the year, especially those that might not receive much attention normally.

So far Jonsi - Boy Lilikoi,

Yeasayer - One,

and Spoon - Written in Reverse

are my favorites.

Those are all pretty obvious choices (so much for "especially those that might not receive much attention normally"), I bet all you cool dudes out there have more interesting things to post.

i realize the album was released almost a year ago in the UK under their original name Malakai, but the song 'Snowflake' by Malachai is pretty frickin' badass. and judging by YouTube, the song dates back to early 2008 even

looks like Pitchfork gave the album a respectable 7.5 last month:

i'll have to check out the album this weekend

edit: looks like it was first mentioned on SOMB in July 2008: http://www.soundopinions.org/forum/index.p...&hl=malakai

A new Sophie Ellis-Bextor single is imminent, and the sample sounds great.
