That blog of his had me worried for a second. Amusing video, even if it doesn't really fit the song at all. Good song and choice for a single, though. If it brings attention to that song and his new album, well, huzzah. I listened to Bricks this weekend and it's pretty solid, it's grown on me a little more. There are a few indie rock hero albums that have come out this year that are above-average records, but it's not exciting to write about Leo, The Hold Steady, Spoon, etc in 2010 and since they've all made much better records, even the diehards are kind of giving these records "eh, it's a bit of a letdown" reactions.

Also, fuck that Green Day musical and Across the Universe. Punk/indie rock "ethics" and yelling "YOU SOLD OUT" at people is usually stupid bullshit and I don't miss those old arguments from the '90s, but I also think everyone's gotten a little too accepting of bands letting shitty TV shows/movies/products/dumb-ass musicals that seem like Mr. Show sketches use their songs in the last 10 years or so.
