Get the farm for Cutler and give up an even bigger one for...Tebow. Have fun with that Tebow, Quinn, Orton QB competition Bronco fans, Acne Neck strikes again! laugh.gif

I could be way off base, but I see McDaniels using Tebow as a potential tight end for trick plays this season. McDaniels loves that kind of stuff.

Also, why the hell did the Broncos get Quinn if they wanted Tebow? That part is really what confuses me.
Mike Schank
2nd, 3rd and a 4th for a TE? I get what you're saying, but isn't Tebow dedicated to the QB spot? Plus, he isn't athletic by NFL standards. I heard a Pat White comparison tonight which is just insane.

Packers and Jets may have gotten the best value.

Love Okung falling to the Seahawks.

Vikings trade is great, gives them an extra pick if they wanna take a guy who will sit like Clausen. Or they can trade it because those first few picks of the 2nd will chase more than they ever have before. Clausen, Brown, Cody, Price, Franks and Saffold, tons of value in the 2nd round.

How do you figure that's a steal? I love Spiller, but it's not like he tumbled down in the draft. Every player taken in front of him is a blue chipper at other positions.

Fucking ESPN reported that the Lions traded their fourth round pick to move up four spots and draft Best. I like Best, but I didn't like giving up a top 100 pick in a very deep draft to take a guy who probably would have been there at pick #34. Then this morning we learn that they only swapped picks with Minnesota.

Did you guys see Tom Jackson's response to the Tebow pick? Priceless. Dude was so pissed, and just tried to keep his mouth shut as long as possible.

because traditionally RB's of his value go within the first 5 picks of this draft - not to mention IMO other than Suh he is the best player in this draft

not to mention the bills save themselves some scratch by him falling out of the top 5 - they benefit even more now the a lot of OL have fallen into the second round

So, the Bills have to be trading Lynch now, right? Where do you think he goes?

they made a good point on the radio today - that they dont necessarily need to - fred jackson is 30 and lynch could end up in jail in the next year...so you may have to keep all 3 on the squad

Yeah giving up the 4th completely would have been nuts, but I like the move; even though the next few teams before the Lions didn't have that need at RB, you never know what other teams would have been willing to trade up to grab him before 34.

I haven't heard anything about the Bears, so they don't get to pick until the 3rd round, right? Well, it wasn't worth it.
MattW
Per the Vikes, I was thinking they would trade down again to get another 4th rounder but Buffalo and Cleveland weren't interested and they wanted Cook the whole time. I thought trading up meant McCoy for sure, but a 3rd down back? I have to trust Spielman's judgment because he's been REALLY good since he came on board, but I'm a little confused.

And for the record, I'm only into McCoy because he's been running the same system at Texas, not because I think drafting a QB early is a good idea because it usually isn't.

An Iowa Hawkeye becoming a Green Bay Packer (Bulaga) always brightens my day biggrin.gif

Vince Young = Quantrell Bishop? Apparently.

Favre has informed the Vikings he will not return to Minnesota for a second season, according to multiple reports. sad.gif

I think a lot less football fans this year have the resolve to pay close attention to Favre Watch anymore, or at least to get too jumpy at every plot twist, but I'd be pretty shocked if he doesn't make a last-minute decision to play, even halfway through the pre-season. He'll be watching games and getting the itch, and despite his ankle injury he showed he still "had it" last year. I think he's kind of a self-absorbed drama queen and the media's over-the-top fawning doesn't make it any easier to like him (not that it's his fault, just like a good band that gets overexposed), but between the lines the dude undeniably is a gamer.
Moo & Oink
Favre turned down $13 million, so it's safe to assume that his playing days are over.
ericmaloney
they're already offering him more and the smart money says he'll be playing for the Vikings in 2010.

I just wish he would make a decision so I can have a better idea of what to do in my fantasy draft this friday

Favre should have a 1 hour special on ESPN next week and announce that he's...retiring.

There is no way you'll know by Friday. I got a text from ESPN today that Farve is denying reports that he told the team he was done. Its totally going to be another year of 'will he or wont he' until the last minute.

It terms of your fantasy draft, I wouldn't reach to high for him. I don't think him playing affects AP all that much, and I'm not super high on any of the Vikings WRs because they all are somewhat injury prone.
