I've false-started this thread a couple times now. I like this album so much, but I can't really think of anyone that I'd recommend it to other than James D & (maybe) Bruegel, and James don't come around much anymore. It\\\'s a really brash & hilarious metal(ish) album that sounds like the bastard of DEP, The Jesus Lizard, Minus the Bear, and a traveling dime & nickel carnival. It's short - < 28 mins - and the guitarist left the band (according to wikipedia!) to start Fang Island, another band I like that I know some people do not. It isn't very screamy, its brimful of grooves, and the last track is a harvey wallbanger of a motherfucker. I don't really know what I'm trying to say here, but this is great and I've listened to it a bunch in the last 48 hrs.

This is a good one, alright. Daughters' best album to date, for sure.

If it sounds anything like Botch I'll probably dig it.
Will report back with findings.

This one is similar to Botch in that their outlook on music is pretty similar (i.e. experimental yet groovy) but they have v. different sounds.
Great band. "The Hit" is one of their best ever songs IMO. Even trumps a lot of the stuff on Hell Songs which people should definitely check out if they're enjoying this.
Unfortunately these guys don't really tour a lot b/c the singer is a recluse and hates doing shows. I hope I get to see them perform this new material.

I listened to Hell Songs last night. Great songs, kinda shitty production, especially on the drums.

I really should dig out Canada Songs again. That album's nuts.

I just downloaded and have only listened to the first two tracks thus far. So far, they sorta remind me of These Arms Are Snakes from Seattle. Long squealing guitar patterns with heavy-groove oriented bass-drums patterns. I'm digging it so far.

Hey thanks for the rec on this, I just finished it and I really enjoyed it. Love the tambourine work placed sparsely throughout.

That's a good point, I should've thought of you. I know you dig metal and gay music and this is basically those two combined.

Easily one of my favorite bands. Their entire catalog is amazing. Sucks the bands pretty much done now. At least they went out with a bang.

Paul Wear's a hat of fire. He has so much love to give. But no one will get close to him.

Paul wears a hat of fire. He told me he doesn't see a point to going out anymore.
His mother tried to teach him right from wrong. Still, he wont take it off.

Noisy and skronky as fuck. Kind of reminds me a little bit of Melt Banana/ Hot Snakes, with Scratch Acid and Butthole Surfers moments. DEP not a bad RIYL either.
Doesn't do a lot for me, honestly, but I can dig what they're doing. You could say I appreciate this record.

Melt Banana + Scratch Acid = this is better than spot-on, now that you mention it.
