These suggestions are pretty weak--did you all just do a google of "reggae" and pick from the list of 12 songs that first popped up???

Hate to contribute to a troll thread, but still...this is the best reggae song ever. Ever, damn it. Yeah. I said it.

true dat, but they arent neccesarily going to be the 25 "most popular" reggae songs of all-time either...
Vivian Darkbloom

I was gonna list off a legit list of the 25 best of all time, but I reminded myself that this is a disposable Ace thread.

Hey Guys - what are the 25 best "raggae" songs of all time?

*gives suggestions*

Why would you list those? Everyone knows obscure = great.

*pointless rejoinder reminds of godless existence - soul escapes through increasingly porous will to live - somewhere Woody Allen pines for a large sock with horse manure in it*

I think there could be a case made for "obscure= great" actually. In fact athat is one of the lure's of outsider rock/art/etc...

1. Pressure Drop by Toots & the Mayalls

this, plus "Funky Kingston," which I think is my favorite Maytals song.

Junior Murvin "Police and Thieves"
Desmond Dekker and the Aces "Israelites"
Jimmy Cliff "The Harder They Come" and "Many Rivers to Cross"

I used to think I hated reggae, but I think it's just that I don't like Bob Marley. Or Ziggy Marley. Or any Wailers-related records. But rocksteady, dub, etc. good stuff.
