some people DO know what will sell, and those are the ones that tap into the industry and the mass trends. those are the most successful ones.

there is more to it of course.

i think part of the whole thing about this side of music, rock star type shit, you're partially in it to enjoy the experience of LIFE. those risks and all that, it's part of the ride. you want to live day to day the way you want to live day to day. there is no work. no anything. it's an adventure, and you go out into the world and you see it. most people don't get to do it.

so for many people rockstar-stuff is just an expression of pure meaninglessness and the great joys of life.
