Ok the thing of it is, my crappy old car has a deflating right passenger tire. I have no spare, no cash to repair it until the tax refund comes in.

1. Will damage occur on the grill of the tire if left unattended, say 2-3Weeks from now?

2. Or, should I invest in the emergency tire patch kit (the canister that spews out that green chemical ) in the interim?

The car also needs a battery jump, btw, so that is my other concern w/r/t the grill.

Thanks.
Mitchell
I have no idea, do you not think you might get a better response by Googling car/auto-mobile forums though.

maybe go to walmart and put it on a credit card.

Maybe if you ask us 10 more times it'll fix itself.

Borrow someone's bike pump and keep it inflated until you get the money to fix it. I always keep a bike pump in my trunk. Why? Last summer I woke up at 8,000 feet in Crater Lake National Park with two flat tires and the closest "town" at 45 miles. With the pump I was able to maintain enough air to reach a backwoods tire repair shop in a town of fifty. Without the pump I would have needed a tow.

Being in the middle of nowhere and getting out of your tent to see a flat tire kinda sucks. Talk about helpeless. No cell reception, not many cars coming by, etc.

i would stay away from the spray fix stuff aggy. a lot of places won't patch a tire after that stuff has been used because they can't guarantee the patch will hold.

What's your paypal account, Agrim?

Did that, too (not knowing I posted this damned thing 13 times) and got pretty much the same results. Again, thanks guys.

I'm glad you specified that the flat is on the passenger side. If it were on the driver side I would know exactly what to tell you. Since the flat is on the passenger side, I'm at a total loss.

sounds like you were pretty lucky that the kidnappers brought your car out there with you.

I've had good success w/ the Fix a Flat spray. Permanently fixed the leak and I drove the tire for another 2+ yrs. Depends on the severity of the leak.

I've never paid more than $10 for a nail removal/plug situation. Last time it happend to me was camping up in the hills (not quite Montana's situation), where I picked up a massive nail. I had enough air to get down the road to a town, where I found a place to do it for $10. While there, I got a free cup of cofee, a donut, a Diet Coke for the road, and they gave me a free voucher for their car wash, which was $6 - I'm pretty certain I ended up on top...

And hell, the local tire place near my work handled my coworker's free of charge last week.

Wow... this is just a great example of people being awesome. 200% tip would've have been justifiable.

Sorry Aggie, nothing to add. I don't know shit about cars.

Hate to say so, but I had the impression this place was running mod-free, and the thought never occurred to me. Did you manage to purge johnjafnee?

slackmo fixes flats and provides road side service?
