Actually, that isn't the official trailer. It's just some clips posted for a songwriting contest. Nor is that the final CGI. The official trailer is suposed to be out in May.
But hopefully they'll keep the snake tasering and the snakes popping out of mumus.

Sad thing is by the time it comes to theaters, the joke will have passed for me and they'll have lost a customer.

I dunno, I've got a bad feeling there'll be too much of a 'serious' attempt at making a straight thriller, with only a smidgen of camp. The fact they tried to give it a serious title at one point was a bad sign.
Eh, we'll see. It's not the official trailer, so...

what is the fascination with this movie people?
I don't understand why this has become the "cause-celebre" of cinema?
Can you all just stop......and read a book instead, maybe?
The movie is gonna suck cock regardless of who stars in it if it is a major studio release----they will have to dumb it down to sell tickets, dumbass.

Does anyone remember the Saturday Night Live skit that this movie seems to be based on:
"This is your Captain speaking. There's a King Cobra loose on the plane." Then 2, 3, etc. It was funny for maybe the first minute.
I forget who the host was, but I'm on it.

When you start with a concept that is based all around a title like "Snakes on a plane" and the concept appears to be no better than a low rent version of Die Hard (if that was possible) and as complex and textured as it's title, is there anyway anyone could dumb this down any further?

i swear i dont get this. yeah, it was funny to think of snakes being on a plane and terrorizing people for about two seconds... but my god, people act like it's the coming of christ. and what the hell is with the obsessive following of every new detail.

Remember that study about music, how people will think something is cool if it reaches some sort of critical mass people think it is. I think this is the same scenario, except with nerds and geeks (i.e. single guys aka the internet).

I don't know...I think it will still be pretty cool to hear Samuel Jackson say "Snakes on a motherfuckin' plane"; regardless of the hype...maybe not 10 bucks plus a bucket of popcorn cool;, but definitely rental cool.

exactly. Camp is only fun if it's unintentional. Which is why it's a good thing that the movie finished filming before the hypestorm started--though they did go back and film five minutes of extra shit, I've got a feeling that that's gonna be forgivable in the long term.
In the meantime, looks like I've got four months to plan a costume for opening night.

However, I'm bothered that they have started to market it as campy. It needs to be marked as serious.
