So in this thread we post IMDB links to 2007 films and either get excited, complain about Hollywood being unoriginal or wonder how they got a sequel?
I'll start.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0453451/are people really asking themselves "damn...where'd mr. bean go? i wonder what happened after bean one and could really use a sequel."
it seems that the Bean ship has passed. at least other brit celebs who made it big in the us in the 90's (most notably jennifer saunders) have realized they need to do something else to remain somewhat popular. not sure of her status over in the uk, but you see her pop up from time to time on US telly.

Longford and
See No Evilrespectivly). Samantha Morton will appear as Brady's girlfriend Myra Hindley in Longford.

The new version of the classic film Don't Look Now is to drop the knife-wielding dwarf who dispatches the star Donald Sutherland in the 1973 original and who terrified a generation of cinemagoers. Producers of the £45 million adaptation believe that the dwarf is not frightening enough for a modern audience.
They also claim that their version will be "sexier" than the earlier film despite the fact that the original contains a scene featuring Sutherland and his British co-star Julie Christie that has become one of the most celebrated love scenes in cinema.
Actors being considered for star roles in the remake include Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts, Julia Roberts and Clive Owen..
[...]
Undaunted, the producers of the remake are convinced that they can outdo the original with their more erotic version. They are setting the film in summer rather than winter because they believe that it will create a "sexier environment". The remake will also have more sex scenes than the original.
The image of the murderous dwarf who stalks the back streets of Venice hidden under a red cloak has become closely identified with the Italian city. The producers of the film, which is due to start shooting early next year, are convinced, however, that the character is too old--fashioned.
Josh McLaughlin, who is co-producing the film, said it was important to recognise that audience expectations had changed over the years.
"We are talking about doing away with the dwarf altogether," he said. "It is a seminal image but we feel there are other ways of conveying the ideas behind it." Many people watching the film believe that the dwarf is actually a character rather than a manifestation of what Sutherland is feeling. The way he kept bumping into him was a little too obvious and a little too coincidental.".

Didn't notice this thread before.
Take note of the following sequels for next summer (May - August). Take note that these are only the ones with an actual scheduled date, really crappy ones (read BEAN 2) might be added in later.
Only FOUR Sequels.
28 Days Later 2
Bruce Almighty 2
Fantastic Four 2
Sin City 2
But SIX part 3's!
Bourne Identity 3 (actually 4)
Ocean's 11- 3 (actually 4)
Pirates Of The Caribbean 3
Rush Hour 3
Shrek 3
Spider-Man 3
And, a number 5.
Harry Potter 5
Also, movies on the following established properties...some of which boggle my mind at the fact that they're "established"
Transformers
Simpsons
Underdog (UNDERDOG?? Really? Are we just going to remake any piece of shit from people's childhood)
Nancy Drew (Jesus- Fuck)
Hairspray
Of course the first 4 months also feature plenty of sequels
Hostel 2
Silence of the Lambs 8 (or whatever)
The Hills have Eyes 2 (really 3)
Bean 2
ARE WE THERE YET 2!!!
The Hitcher (Remake)
And the last 4 months:
Resident Evil 3
Halloween 35
Alien Vs. Predator 2
OK, seriously...what the fuck.
Edit:
I hit "add reply" and go check my mail, where there's an advertisement in my E-mail for The Grudge 2.
Fuck Everybody.

Yup, this sounds like it will be very good. Daniel Day Lewis and PT Anderson doing a movie together makes me kind of giddy.
This movie is coming out at the end of 2006, but It's still looking pretty damn good-

Wasn't a big fan of it, but I think Altman was fine during the production. The deal was, the studio and insurance company wanted a back-up just in case Altman died (he's very old, he's been living with a transplanted heart for over 10 years, which is pretty damn long and somewhat unusual). So P.T. volunteered since his wife was already part of the picture.
