hey guys,
Haven't updated this thread much lately, don't think many people check it when I do update it. But I felt I should share this one. It's a fantastic release I've found that came out last year. The ambient inner circle of the SOMB should give it a shot.

i'm interested in hearing this one. i remember janek schaeffer collaborated with philip jeck a few years ago that sounded great.

Bruegel you bastard. That Porn Sword Tobacco is indeed a fine bit of work thus far. I can only imagine how delish the vinyl sounds, so I might have to get it in this very week.

Yeah. I love that album.....the short tracks and style hopping puts some people off but there is some kind of inexplicable kinship that binds the disparate threads. I think Ill be getting the vinyl too but I might need to leave it for a bit as I went on an acid binge today...I bought Ace of Clubs, The Tuss (ep and album), Last Step, Syntheme Vol. 1 and pre-ordered Ceephax Volume Two....ouch.
Has your Doomriders/Boris spilt turned up yet? I think the postie brought mine today but I was out spending all my hard-earned so Ill have to go and collect it tomorrow.

Came really quickly, actually. Some time last week. Gonna get
Pink this week too, as it's apparently somewhat limited.
[edit for on topicity] I've been thinking about getting the Tuss full length in: is it three discs by default? That's disgustingly luxurious, and I want to be a part of it.

Jul 10 2007, 06:36 PM
Yeah six tracks and only about 35 minutes of material stretched over six sides of the black stuff...you can imagine how good it sounds though. Giving it an attentive play through tonight I was shocked at how Orbital-like the first two tracks sounded....Orbital wearing analogue braindance hats and squelchy acid slippers maybe but there are some unmistakably Hartnollesque flourishes.
Regardless of its architect, it’s a stunning piece of work and I thoroughly recommend getting the vinyl. Have you heard the new tracks on
The Tuss Myspace page...Wasp Tinkle and Dyktuss in particular sound great....I emailed Rephlex to see if they are going to be released but no response as yet.
Back on topic....download the Elegi album I just upped, turn out all the lights, put your headphones on and prepare to have the willies put firmly up you.

thanks for the upload breugel, I'll look into that one definitely.
I'm also totally loving that Porn Sword Tobacco release, have been playing it a lot lately. Definitely a top record for me this year so far. Nice brief imaginative songs that sound very analog.
Peeps should check out these collaborators:
it's really brilliant stuff, I'd up it but I don't have access to it at the moment. Here's the Boomkat link with the review and also you can stream the songs for free on the site:

http://www.mediafire.com/?0znyhve5o0ywow, thanks for posting this. it's good. is it just me or does Jesu's music keep getting fluffier/more shoegaze? There is nary a trace of metal on this ep, all distorted shoegaze pop. but it's pretty damn good, I like that instrumental )track two) the best.
I'm listening to the Eluvium right now "Time Travel of the Sloth, Part One and Two" lol first ten minutes don't exactly catch my attention, until the piano kicks in....eh, I think he could've done better. kinda phoning this one in?

After spinning the
Sundown / Sunrise vinyl a bunch of times, I agree that Broadrick isn't metal any more. And he's got pretty boring, too, as far as I'm concerned. That's more correlation than causation btw. Someone who's heard it: is

aside: and avec, i'm right there with you with the whole

Machinefabriek's Stuip and Staar are two minimal drone performances captured at the Cross Street Chapel, Manchester (UK) and the Toneelschuurm, Haarlem (NL). Running just under an hour his processed guitar textures rise and fall, stretching their substance through etheral minimalism, slowly evolving epic heights, and moments of sublime symphony.
it's a net-label release.

It's not by far my favorite yet, but it has really sunk into me these last few weeks. The production took some getting used to for me. It's very clean sounding. you know how their previous recordings all sound gauzy? This one has a purely unaffected sound, as if there were a full orchestra behind the music in a concert hall. A much more symphonic album than their predecessors. Man, they keep putting out such amazing stuff.

i though i'd post this album here, cos it's more ambient rather than techno. i'm curious what some of your may think of it. i think this may appeal to those who like experiments with sounds and tones in ambient music. basically, think of the early plastikman ambient music. but this one is '07 minimal ambient music. it's quite good.

Do you mean the new album, or the group at large? Speaking to the new release, I'm not exactly bowled over by it. It's basically a collection of the ambient interludes that are spaced in between the regular songs on M83 albums. Seems nice enough, but it didn't grab me on first listen.
