My wife picked up Maddden w/the wii. Haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I played NBA Live a bunch over the weekend and yesterday...I like it a lot. The spin moves and stuff are there, it's just figuring out how to wiggle the remote and nunchuck while driving to the hoop.

go and reserve mario galaxy. comes out november 12, should be game of the year.

Really? I don't know. Something about SMG that just doesn't have me all snazzed (and I list Super Mario 64 on my super short-list of greatest game ever, so I'm in the fan club). Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to it and its going to be very, very good. But I'm not salivating for it. Once I got my head around the "lack of gravity" level design, it just doesn't appear to be terribly innovative. Controls will be key.

I guarantee you it won't be game of the year, though. That's already out. Its called Bioshock.

If you like golf games, Tiger Woods 08 is pretty solid, IMO. The swing is fairly realistic.

Mario Galaxy has me more snazzed for any game ever except for the excruciating waits for Super Mario 64 and Final Fantasy VII. If you own a Wii and you don't have it reserved or are for some reason holding some reservations on it's quality, you are a total lunatic and don't deserve to play video games

I've never played a Mario game in my life and really have no interest in playing one. Not saying I wouldn't enjoy it if I tried, I just don't have any interest in even trying.

Man I would love to see Galaxy win GOTY honors from some publication, but this year is so stacked with quality titles. I can't remember the last time a field was this crowded. Fuck now that I think about it, I'm just glad there are all these games to look forward to. I can't wait to play Galaxy, Rock Band, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, etc etc etc...Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, Contra 4...Guitar Hero 3, Smash Bros....If I had a PS3 I'd want to check out Uncharted. Lot's of rentals/purchases ahead.

Gee, thanks. These types of games have never interested me, sorry. Even as a kid, I was all about sports and strategy games on the PC. I didn't own a console between Atari and the PS2 I bought last year (almost exactly a year ago, actually), except for a Playstation I went in on with some friends in college around 1991 so we could play some college football game that was out at the time (that was the only game we bought for it).

Mario was in Donkey Kong, right? I guess if that counts, I've played a Mario game.

Unfortunately, the US release date for Smash Brothers has been changed to "TBD" on the Dojo site.

I was going to say that it would be really hard to include Megaman since they'd have to find a way for him to mimick his opponent's attacks. But Kirby already does that, right? It's been two years since I've played Melee.

Super Bomberman 2 is one of my all-time top 3 so obviously that would be great, too. But now I'm just dreaming. Cloud Strife? Shinobi? Pac Man?

Meh, too late if you ask me. Sonic hasn't been relevant since Sonic Adventure on the DC, but whatever. I would have been suprised if it didn't happen considering how Sega's focused changed from hardware to software. I'll take pleasure smacking around Sonic fan boys with Mario, and vice versa.

Confirmed today, Smash Brothers has been delayed in the US until Feb 10. No reason given.

It's probalby just as well. Nintendo will already have one blockbuster title out for the holidays. And since the company is still expecting console shortages, it's not like they need it to drive sales. And this will help fill up the usual game drought between the holidays and May.

Still pisses me off, though, as it smacks of marketing schenanigans (like the rumors that Mario has been ready to go since the summer) and jerking around the customer base (who's had to live through a long game drought on the Wii between Zelda and Metroid).

Nah, I had time for neither. I got in late and had to be up early, so I snacked on Pringles and M&Ms at the hotel, then the cold lunch at the studio was pretty meh, so I pretty much starved myself until I could grab some Burger King at the airport. Nothing like sampling the local cuisine...

I didn't have any time with Jade, because I think she was only taking part in the video interviews (and I was just playing/talking for my article), but I did see her arrive in the morning. When she walked in the door, she suddenly went into a sprint -- I couldn't tell if she was running for the door (inside) because someone was holding it for her or because she saw a small group of journalists and wanted to avoid early morning questioning or meet & greet.

Man, I'm headed to London on Monday night to cover an event. Never been to the U.K. (went to Italy last summer), so this will be nothing short of an adventure. Plus, the amount of stuff I'll probably have to do by deadline is far more than I've had to do in such a period of time before, so... yeah, rough week, but a great opportunity and monies will be nice.

Anyone in here pick up Orange Box yet for the 360? (I assume Damo has the PC version).

I was championing it pretty strongly a few months ago, but have been holding off. First, I'm still playing a lot of Halo 3. Second, almost all of my friends that I play with online are playing Halo 3 and have no interest in jumping ship yet. Third, and most importantly, however, is the whole issue with rampant lag. I've heard that lag in Team Fortress 2 is killing it on the console.

If anyone has it, what are your thoughts? Its getting very good reviews, but that's deserved simply for Half Life 2. And I've already played that a bunch.

Yeah, I nabbed it. Played through Portal and am a couple hours into Half-Life 2. Had the original Xbox port, but it ran like shit on the 360, so I waited for the better version. Pretty awesome.

Haven't tried TF2 yet, though.

I wish I was back at home so I could hook up my PC to the net and play TF2. It looks absolutely fantastic in all honesty. Gotta love Valve.

I'm currently playing Stalker on the PC at the moment (since my X-box has gone all red light again ). Its horribly bug ridden which kinda ruins the experience because bugs notwithstanding, its a terrific game.

Well annoyed about the Xbox fucking up though. It's only been back from repair for a couple of months ffs.

Yeah. I actually played Half-Life 2 on the XBOX, and I was very impressed. It's definately worth another play through on the 360, though I hear that Part 2 is even better.
