Anyone have a copy of tetris for gameboy they can give to me for free?

I also totally want a little sound dj
Making GB beats while riding the el>iPod

I do, or at least I did, and if I come across it sometime soon, likely in the midst of my packing up and moving over the next few weeks, I'll drop you a line.

I used to want to get Little Sound DJ or Nanoloop but they were all sold out when I was getting into that sort of thing and the cartridges were near impossible to come by.

Beat Final Fantasy VII yet Undo?
shimmy
ok so I got the lost planet demo last night for 360 and nothing has blown me away like this game has. I thought Ghost Recon was next gen, and it IS, but this game is pure insanity.
also got to see trailers for crackdown, alan wake, too human, and a new gears of war teaser.
And a chromhounds demo should be up in a day or two.
clearly Microsoft has their shit together and sony is just...well....lets just say I'm not feeling it.

Also Dead Rising will hit stores in June even though sites say late Aug. (thats the europe release date) That looks like the perfect game for a horror buff like me!

Beat Final Fantasy VII yet Undo?

I'll keep hacking away at it today.

I completed the ancient forest but that was mostly a waste of my time. Now... now it's just leveling for a while, maybe. I'm really lost and confused about a lot of the quests that I was working on a year ago when I stopped playing. Odds of me finishing those are not good. So I'm just going to level for a bit, save my game, and then give the crater a shot.
Undercooked Sausage
Sephy was a breeze for me at lv 73. Though I had Omnislash I think.
KENAN THOMPSON
don't forget to get "mime"

and a golden chocobo is worth the time it takes to breed one, the crater won't be a problem if you have knights of the round and everybody in your party's at level 60-70 or so.

QUOTE
How to Breed a Golden Chocobo

1. Go to the Chocobo ranch south of Midgar and purchase at least four stables from Chocobo Bill.

2. Equip one of your party members with the Chocobo Lure materia Bill gives you.

3. Find some Chocobo tracks on the world map and walk over them until you get into a fight.

4. Enter battle and look for a strange-looking yellow bird among the enemies. If you see it, proceed to step 5. If not, get into another fight.

5. Kill the enemies as quickly as possible, making sure not to harm the Chocobo. If you kill them fast enough, you will win the Chocobo.

6. Return to the Chocobo ranch and place your new Chocobo in the stable.

7. Talk to Chocobo Bill. If he says, "Mmm, this one's not bad" or "This is a pretty average Chocobo," keep the Chocobo. If he says neither of these things, release it.

8. Repeat steps 3 to 7 until you have a breeding pair of Chocobos described by Chocobo Bill as "Mmm, this one's not bad" or "This is a pretty average Chocobo."

9. Fly to the Chocobo Sage's hut north of the Bone Village.

10. Buy as many Sylkis greens as you can from the Chocobo Sage.

11. Return to the farm and feed your Chocobos the Sylkis greens until their statistics are as high as they can go.

12. Fly to the Golden Saucer Casino and enter your Chocobos in the Chocobo races.

13. Race your Chocobos until they both become Class A Chocobos.

14. Fly to the small forested island due south of the Chocobo Ranch.

15. Equip one of your party members with the steal command materia.

16. Walk in the forest until you get into a fight with a band of Goblins.

17. Steal a Zeio nut from the Goblins.

18. Fly to the Chocobo farm.

19. Save your game.

20. Breed your two Chocobos, feeding them the Zeio nut. This should produce either a green or a blue Chocobo. If it doesn't, reload the game and try again.

21. Save your game.

22. Repeat steps 14 to 19 until you have two different Chocobos of different colors and sexes (a blue male and green female or vice versa).

23. Repeat steps 9 to 18 with your new green and blue Chocobos.

24. Breed the green and blue Chocobos, feeding them the Zeio nut. This should produce a black Chocobo. If it doesn't, reload the game and try again.

25. Repeat steps 9 to 12 with your new black Chocobo.

26. Race your black Chocobo until it becomes Class S.

27. Fly to the Bone Village.

28. Get in a fight in the plains outside the Bone Village with a monster called a Vlakorados.

29. Steal a Carob nut from the Vlakorados.

30. Return to the Chocobo ranch.

31. Save your game.

32. Breed the black Class S Chocobo with a yellow Class A Chocobo, using the Carob nut. This should finally produce the Golden Chocobo. If it doesn't, reload your game and try again.

p.s. enjoy sephiroth's 5 minute summons, he pulls it out 3-5 times a fight, and there's no way to skip through it
Undercooked Sausage
you only need mime if you're going after the weapons really.
KENAN THOMPSON
but if he gets the golden chocobo all he has to do is go to that island to get it

only summon that long that i've ever seen that actually justifies it's length. Sooo cool. *blows up universe* ahh! *party goes into critical condition* hahaha, cloud and company = walking gods or something.
KENAN THOMPSON
also, same goes for that summons (KoTR), but fighting the weapons gives the game some replay value

Really? My buddy didn't like it.

I downloaded it but haven't had the time to play it yet. I'll get to it tomorrow.
wakingrufus
those weapons are tough. the emerald is much easier, but the ruby is a bitch.
hint:
go into the fight with 2 party members dead. make sure yo have at least one person with a linked final attack/phoenix. then just chain ultima, quadmagic, and mime.
you could do w-summon and KotR, and mime, but he counters KotR with ultima, which hurts.
Undercooked Sausage
yep, that's how i did it.

I'm currently playing Tourist Trophy, which is essentially Gran Turismo 4, but with bikes. I can't really enjoy this type of racing... at this point, I'm at a max speed of 70, having to slow down nearly to a halt for most turns, and I haven't won a race yet. That said, it's put together pretty well, but it lacks style/personality. I'm working on it for a review; will probably write that early next week.

I started playing Driver: Parallel Lines yesterday, too. I swear I played this game back when it was called Grand Theft Auto... but seriously, it's not bad for what it is. Consider it the less-interesting 1970's version of GTA that hasn't been made yet. Reviewing that for Static, no clue how long it'll take.
shimmy
Lost Planet???

most amazing 3rd person shooter ever!

u play it yet?
Andyroo
Yeah, I would have to disagree...

It certainly looks amazing, but the gameplay is nothing new. If they can make massive improvements by the time it releases next Spring, it could be something special. At this point, it's just nice to look at.

Oh, I finally did beat FF7 last week. I don't know what my level was or what my final time was since it didn't really allow me to check those things once I got to the final battles. Bizzarro Sephiroth took me about 90 minutes to beat. I think that the key is to not heal your party if you can help it, because once I finally gave up doing that, he stopped healing himself and pretty soon thereafter, he went down.

Mind you, I had no awesome summons or pretty much any of the key materia that I needed. I don't know how I survived his next form but I somehow did... then once I had him in the final battle (one on one between him and Cloud) I killed him in one attack (Omnislash). I was really surprised and shocked by that but I almost get the feeling that the game just might set that up for everyone to do once they get to the end.

I love this game but I don't know if I'll ever return to it to breed chocobos, collect the rest of the materia, fight the remaining Weapons, etc. But it's nice to know that I could if I wanted to.

The actual ending was a slight letdown for me. There were some parts of the plot that I really wanted closure on, and none of them were even touched on. And I'm as much of an eco-freak as anyone, but it all felt like a few steps away from the kind of heavy-handed mythologizing of something like Ferngully: The Last Rainforest. Plus, I never really cared much for Aeris and was frustrated by how her character seemed to get in the way of more rewarded emotional developments between Cloud and Tifa. Even in the bitter end, when the two of them are alone, he's still all like "let's do it for Aeris... Aeris... Aeris..." or something. And then the final shot before the credits... bleh.

I'm hoping that this Advent Children DVD will give me what I'm looking for but I'm sort of expecting that it won't. We'll find out really soon, hopefully by the weekend.
Andyroo
Advent Children skimps on the story and focuses mainly on badass action sequences. Which isn't such a bad thing, but I would have liked a better narrative.

Yep, game reviewers get to play the crap, too. Driver, Daxter, and Da Vinci are for Static, the other three for WorthPlaying. I was put in charge of contacting game companies for review copies for Static, and Da Vinci is my first victory. Too bad it probably sucks. *shrug*

Driver is average, MX vs. ATV is pretty good (aside from monster loading times).

Da Vinci is probably lame, Rampage is probably trash; Daxter should be really good, and Frogger is probably decent.

I also recently played through Over the Hedge for GameCube, Go! Sudoku for PSP, and Tourist Trophy for PS2, all for WorthPlaying. For Static, I've recently done reviews for X-Men: The Official Game on Xbox 360 and SSX On Tour for PSP.
undo
Rampage doesn't need to exist in the 21st century.

Have you ever played Home Alone 2 for SNES (or Genesis)? Just let us know if Da Vinci Code is not worse than that.
Andyroo
It really doesn't. Rampage didn't need to exist past its original iteration. I remember the junky N64 versions and suspect this is worse.

I haven't played Home Alone 2, unfortunately. But I'll let you know how Da Vinci Code is anyway. wink.gif Early reviews on it are so-so. Not like... worst game ever, but more like "what's the point?"

Also, it looks like Nintendo is going to send me loaner copies of new DS games to review for Static. I think they're hesitant to send us free games until we prove that we will review the ones they send to us on loan. I'd rather have the keepers, but meh... it's content.
Sam
Took my time with it, but I finally got around to beating Half-Life 2 yesterday. Wow, what a fun and exciting game. The first few hours left me really cold as the levels were too confined and linear, but as the scope of the game widened it quickly became amazing.

There were some great moments post-Ravenholm, but nothing beats the last street level when you and your soldiers are taking down the striders and the combine all over the city. Its like fucking living War of the Worlds when those things pop up in front of you out of the rubble and blow holes in entire buildings. I also liked the last level (despite it's ease due to the Super Gravity Gun) because it was so cathartic. I didn't need another level of inching your way through battle after battle . . . tossing Combine soldiers around like rag dolls and incinerating them with dark energy was enough for me.

Great stuff.

EDIT: I'm thinking about picking up Jade Empire. Haven't played a good RPG for a while, and the reviews are off the chart. Plus, I like KOTOR so I have faith in Bioware. Anyone here play it? What did you think?

I was thinking the same thing actually. I saw it at the local rental store a little while back, and it was only $9.99 for a used copy. I remember hearing really good things, and if this can be confirmed, i may have to go back and pick it up.

As for my own gaming ways, I'm on a Hitman kick right now. I'm working to improve my assassin skills by playing through Hitman 2, so that ill be ready for when Blood Money hits (and hot damn, it looks awesome).

All in all I am pretty pleased with my purchase. I need to buy the Live Gold Membership once my month trial expires cause playing Burnout online is pretty awesome. Oh yeah, and the XBOX Live Arcade is a thing of beauty. I downloaded Smash TV two nights ago and remember it is hands down the hardest video game ever created. But it is so satisfying.
Anyone else here on XBOX Live and wanna throwdown sometime? If so, I'll be nerdylame and pass word that my gamer tag is HartsyThaiFood. All y'all should find me and we'll talk over headsets.

I've been playing this again. So insane and addictive. And Wario is a great character to boot
Andyroo
WarioWare was awesome. I need to pick up the DS one when I get my DS Lite in two weeks.

Beat Rampage: Total Destruction. Horrible. Playing The Da Vinci Code. Seriously flawed. Playing Frogger: Helmet Chaos. Not bad.

I need something fun to play in addition to the junk games I'm working on for reviews. I picked up a couple of games for $10 today: Marc Ecko's Getting Up and The Matrix: Path of Neo. Might start Path of Neo tonight and see how it is.

Been trying to get Rockstar to send me their Table Tennis game for 360; will hopefully hear back on Tuesday.

Just started this tonight. I don't know if I'm ever going to completely figure out this whole junctioning system or not, but I can remember being confused as hell by materia and limit breaks the last time around, and I finally got that hang of that.

About 2 hours into this my PS2 froze up during a cinematic sequence and wouldn't do anything or respond to any commands. I gave up and turned it off for the day. That's never happened before. I hope it doesn't happen again next time.
KENAN THOMPSON
image doesn't show up, but i assume you're talking about FFX
great game.
the cinematics don't slow down for a while, but when they do, the game gets much better.
I had the same problem with the game, usually during cinematic sequences but one time when i was about to beat sin for the first time after like six tries asdlfkjsf
I think it's because i have one of the original/launch PS2s and it's just a piece of shit. maybe yours is the same way.
Undercooked Sausage
That game isn't very good.

FFVIII, i mean. X is great.
KENAN THOMPSON
oh yeah...junctioning system, not sphere grid, my bad
and yes, ff8 fuckin blows
there is no advantage to leveling up, since the enemies 'level up' with you as you get more powerful no matter where you are in the game, and you have to draw magic way too often
have fun watching the same screen for over an hour (not an exageration) while you're trying to draw enough magic to get you through the next stage of the game

ff9 is much better and will be a lot more fun if you've played anything other than VII
Andyroo
I wasn't big into FFVIII, either. And I ran a major FFVIII fansite for years, haha.

I'm getting review copies of Hitman: Blood Money for 360 and Rogue Trooper for PS2 from WorthPlaying, and review copies of Steambot Chronicles and Metal Saga for PS2 from Atlus (for Static). Awesome.

I was at the first "mission" or whatever when you're teamed up with Quistis, Zell, and Seifer, and the boats are going across the water... and then my PS2 froze (playing a "PS1" game, no less!). Maybe I'll try it again tonight, clean off the disc and see if it works this time.
