So Fallout: New Vegas is out in a week or so. Anyone gonna pick it up? I've got exams coming up so I'm gonna wait till I'm done with them or else I will probably fail miserably. I was terribly addicted to Fallout 3.
amnesious
I ended up getting New Vegas and its pretty fucking awesome. It's essentially the exact same game as Fallout 3 but in a different setting with some small differences. Already been playing for a while and there is still a bunch of shit left to do. If you liked Fallout 3 you should grab this asap.
Finer Feelings
Definitely going to pick up New Vegas, perhaps this weekend.

I'm also definitely going to download the Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead Redemption. Looks fun as hell.

Been playing NBA 2K11 a lot lately. Great game.

xbox e74 errored on me, warranty on that expired in september apparently. weak
Ogawa
Considering how often those things fail, that should be a lifetime warranty, or at least a really extended one. Pretty bullshit that they can sell a clearly faulty product and say, "Psh, your warranty expired, you're shit out of luck." It's like, "No, asshole, sell me a piece of shit that functions like it's supposed to."

My Genesis and SNES (purchased '89 and '91) still work perfectly. Obviously a little less complex than the modern systems, but still.
yeknom
Yeah, I'm going to try and repair it myself; I build computer systems, can't be that much different. Gonna just try to clean off the heatsink and add some thermal paste see if that does anything. But yeah I have an n64 and an NES that run better than this thing.

SUPERRRRRR MEAT BOY!!!!!

Currently taking a break to avoid going on a real life murderous rampage.

Actually splitting my time between this and Alan Wake both are really stellar.

I finished Red Dead Redemption, and picked up Demon's Souls. Jesus Christ. I'm about ready to sell it or just give it to a friend. Three hours on the game futilely trying to get through level 1. I knew I wasn't the most intense gamer these days, but this game is ridiculous. I've read rave reviews talking about how brutally hard it is....well, that's nice. I guess I prefer to enjoy my gaming experience, rather than get some sense of accomplishment for slogging through a level and FINALLY getting it after HOURS of dying. That 3D Heroes game looks cool--and more my speed.

Demon's Souls gets easier as you learn it. It is tough as nails, but once you grind a bit and learn some timing it is one of the most rewarding games out there. 3D Heroes is good fun as well.

Right now playing through Deadly Premonition. Some moments I feel like I am playing one of the most inspired games in recent memory, other moments I wonder why I am playing it at all. Perfect for any Twin Peaks fan though smile.gif

Well, there's a game within the 'game.'

Bastion is so good. Beautiful game. Great graphics\artwork, narration, soundtrack. Great overall feel to the game. Can't recommend it enough.

So Batman: Arkham City is the first game since Uncharted 2 where I couldn't wait to get home from work and play.

If one of these days this weekend is a rainy/cloudy day, I am totally staying in my pajamas and playing through the entire day.

theremin
spent a lot of the day salivating over the fact that Diablo III is apparently right around the corner.
yeknom
Yes. Skyrim 11/11 as well.

I've never played a MMORPG, but my friend is telling me we should play the new star wars one that's coming out.

If you've never played an MMO before you might enjoy it. I played the beta and was utterly bored by it. sad.gif

can anyone recommend any wii games? I've been pretty disappointed in most of them.

In my experience these are the only ones you need:
Both Mario Galaxies (easily my two favorite games of this generation)
New Super Mario Brothers
Super Smah Brothers Brawl
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Zelda: Twilight Princess (haven't played the new one yet)
and that might be about it.
yeknom
The new Zelda should shoot to the top of that list.
