the game confuses the fuck out of me. 1) i can't read the text 2) i don't understanda the god damned save system. i've restarted the game 20 fucking times! but i have gotten the mega PP's from the fat couple on the roof.
i think i'm on the right track now but the save system will delete my story progress again i guarantee it.

About the save system... when you die, DON'T SAVE YOUR PROGRESS! You will have to restart. Just load your last save... so make sure to save often. I've already made these mistakes... never again.
I'm at level 8 about to do Case 2-2 right now.

OIC. if you load your game though, you lose any PP or levels you gained, eh? ouch
i'm level 8 (due to all the restarting) and am about to close my first case

Yeah, which is why you should save whenever you're close to a save point. I've been saving as much as possible since I last restarted.

I'm sick of this game dicking me over.
I just lost yet another hour of gameplay, bringing the grand total to about five in 2+ days. I should've beat the game by now! At times, you don't want to save because you're afraid that you might've wasted too much time, and saving will eliminate your chance of meeting one of the deadlines (and then you'll have to start over). But then you play a bunch, and something randomly pops up and you die, losing all of your progress.
And yet, I love playing it. But I have to take breaks, otherwise I'm probably going to whip one of the wireless controllers at my HD... and that's just bad news, all around.

I haven't played a game in a few months but that sounds fun. Since I don't have 360 though, I'm just saving up my video game playing time for Spore's release.

I have been on case 7-2 (bombs in the tunnel) for DAYS man........is it just luck or what? I am ready to break the disc in half. I had 1 bomb left, carlito was dead and I ran out of time. 5 times this has happened.
so when you get ending A (the real one) you go to day 4, then beat that, THEN the infinity mode?
WOW, big game!

If you have the maintenance key, this part is soooo much easier. The key is in a room in the tunnels, right in the middle of the map. Get that, and you can enter the tunnels from the first floor right near the vehicles. It's pretty much the only way to do it without flipping out in anger.

Over the last couple weeks I've gone nuts on MAME and SNES9x emulators. Damn near every game I've ever played is floating around out there on the ol' webbernet. Goodbye sunshine and outdoor activities. Ms. Pacman, Zelda, and Super Mario World have been eating more than a few of my hours lately.
Oh, yeah, I nerd out on City of Heroes/Villains too.
Man it's a good thing I'm already married, I'm such a nerd I wouldn't date me.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII -- played two hours of it and am already a third of the way through. Definitely a two-star affair; boring, repetitive, lame. And FFVII is my second-favorite game of all time. So who the hell is supposed to like this game?
Barnyard I'm reviewing for WorthPlaying. Movie was a mixed bag; I'm not expecting much from the game. Meh.
Also working on Tekken: Dark Resurrection for PSP, and I've got Rule of Rose (PS2), Star Fox Command (DS), and Bad Day L.A. (PC) coming soon.

ive somehow been able to beat the bosses with relative ease. the clown wasn't too tough and the grocery shop keeper was really easy. the only one i have a remotely tough time with is Carlito, but ive managed to slay him two times thus far. i really should invest more time into this game because i always want to play it but then get unmotivated and know that ill just end up frustrated.

It's based solely on the unpopular, third film in the series.
I'm going to ask if the wilting popularity of the films will hurt the game.

One of my roommates and I have been hiding from my other roommate all week in the den and taking turns playing through Metroid Prime again.
Forgot how incredible this game was, some of the best bosses in any game, ever. I'm so sick of scanning shit, though.
For some reason, Echoes didn't do as much for me. I got really sick of all the bullshit involved in getting through the dark world parts.

I bought Echoes the day it came out and have yet to play it. I was in a bit of a gaming funk when it came out, and then I've just been putting it off since. I really should play it before the third one comes out for Wii this fall, but I don't know that I will. I would put the original game in my Top 10 of all time, definitely.
And the DS version of Metroid Prime is nothing special. I think I'm going to eBay mine this week.

Metroid Prime was indeed great as well. They did a much better job of converting the feel of the 2D game than either the Zelda or Mario series did

Metroid Prime is way great, Dan. And you can get it for about $5 these days.
I played a bit more of Dirge of Cerberus today. Just shy of halfway, probably get about two-thirds in by the time I pass out tonight. There are some interesting parts, but overall, just not a great effort. The battle engine is half-assed, and you have to shoot some of the lackeys about 10x to down 'em. Plus, some levels have so many interruptions that you don't feel like you're actually doing anything of import.
Hope to finish that tomorrow.

Well, there's just one "Chocobo Racing," which was released over here, but Japan also saw "Chocobo Stallion," which is also a racing game. Never played that one.
Chocobo Racing was a formulaic Mario Kart knock-off, but I played a considerable amount of it back in the day. Unlocked all the hidden characters (Squall, Aya, etc.).

teledildonics from xbox, with live video chat
QUOTE
It seems I finally have a reason to start gaming again: new Xbox teledildonics. Kotaku tells us that the Xbox 360 now has cameras with video chat, and while chatting there is a command to make your chat-partner's controller vibrate. Even though it takes holding down both triggers at once, making one-handed enjoyment complicated, it seems like this is just a few tiny hardware hacks away from being consumer-level teledildonics. It's my theory that not being truly marketed as porn/sextoy/teledildonics will make it adapted by consumers quickly and easily.
And even though Kotaku is clearly squeamish about the Gawker rules of bloggy journalism and being publicly pervy (there is no line between the two; be loud, be proud; never talk about Gawker pervert journalist club) -- and wanted to "do it" with a (koff, koff) Microsoft employee -- you should really read the post. The comments are quite entertaining, too. Image via Slashdong, who has been working on this hack for a while now. Hello, MAKE: Dirty! I'm tellin' ya. (Thanks, mojo!)

I haven't had a chance to read this whole thread, but is there anyone into PC sports text sims? Front Office Football, PureSim Baseball, etc. There are a number of solid pro and college sports sims out there that focus on accuracy and behind the scenes stuff that makes Madden look silly. But of course, these games don't have flashy (or in some cases, any) graphics.
I'm also continuing to enjoy Civilization IV. Probably the first game I've ever played that I royally suck at, but still enjoy.
