If you kindly explain to me the propers, I'll have some music to share.
Thanks

Just a suggestion but I think it would be better if 2006 releases were kept in the 2006 thread and this one is for more random older stuff or for people to say.
"Can anyone upload me Revolver please? I can upload you something in return"
etc.
Just a thought (and thank you for the Beth Orton tremendously DRJ!!)

Amon Düül II - "Yeti"from
wikipedia: Amon Düül began in 1967 as a commune of Munich-based artists who called themselves after the Egyptian Sun God Amon, and Düül, allegedly a Turkish word for "moon". Before long the commune attained cult status for its musical sessions with the happenings and demonstrations of the politicized youth.
One faction within the commune had an extremely liberal attitude to artistic freedom and took up everyone who wanted to make music whether or not they could sing or play. The other faction was more conservative in this regard. Thus things ended up with an official break between the groups, which called themselves "Amon Düül I" and "Amon Düül II". From then on they went their separate ways.
Amon Düül II
Contrary to their colleagues in Amon Düül I, Chris Karrer, Peter and Ulrich Leopold, Falk Rogner, John Weinzierl and Renate Knaup placed great value on musical talent. With their first album Phallus Dei
in 1969 they created what was considerd to be a milestone in German rock history. The title song alone was 21 minutes in length. They received offers to write music for films. Their music for the film San Domingo won them a Deutscher Filmpreis (German Film Award).
Their second album Yeti
was their breakthrough album in England. Comparisons with Pink Floyd and the Velvet Underground were common. In the following years they were constantly in the Top Five albums whether live or studio recorded.

One of the final threads that I posted in on the last board was in response to atlantamoi's interest in New Musik, a UK electro-pop band that was active in the early 80s. Their 1980 debut,
From A to B is good one, filled with melodic if occasionally cynical songs brimming with catchy meld of synthesized and old-fashioned instrumentation. Here's a YSI:

Scott Walker - New album, 'The Drift', complete
19 January 06
We're delighted to announce that Scott Walker has completed work on his first album for the label.
The long-awaited new album - called "The Drift" - will be Scott's first since the ground-breaking "Tilt" was released in 1995.
4AD will release the album worldwide in May. The exact date will be announced shortly.
A documentary film about Scott's music - including the making of "The Drift" - is being made by the New York -based director Stephen Kijak. Titled "30 Century Man", it will also be released in 2006.
My favorite album of his is a compilation Julian Cope put together for Zoo Records back in the early '80s, Called
Fire Escape In The Sky: The God-like Genius of Scott Walker.
All the tracks are Scott Walker originals from his first four solo records.
