is anyone else checking usenet and OiNK like 3-5 times a day for the new rhcp? (I know I'm alone here)

Aside from the fact that I don't have an OiNK account i'm with ya biggrin.gif I can't wait to hear the new one. I know a lot of people really hated By the Way and Californication but not me I loved them. True they are not the same as the older RHCP classics they lack the intensity on most songs but still the return of John Frusciante has done wonders for the band. Not too mention sobriety has done wonders for their live show it's no longer just loud and fast now there's loud, fast and good musicianship.

yeah that shows in the Slane Castle DVD. Frusciante kills some of those solo's.
I'm feeling this leak within a few days.....gonna be SICK!

Although i am also not sure what all the Gnarls hype is about, thank you very much. Anything you want in return?

I really like St. Elsewhere, and think that it deserves all of the hype it generates. Besides it being a rock solid album, i like the teaming of Danger and Cee-lo. Maybe its just the promo pics, but they seem like they are just having fun with it, which really makes St. Elsewhere a fun record to listen to.

My feelings exactly.

It's a fun album alright. And Crazy is one of those singles that will go down in history. The 00s have given us Crazy In Love, Hey Ya!, Milkshake and now Crazy. Great pop songs that also do well in the charts.

'Toxic' and 'Try Again' instead of 'Crazy In Love' and I agree.

Maritime - We, the Vehicles
hxxp://s63.xxxsendit.com/d.aspx?id=0C6653LWY7YWV3MOV5KCG1OJ8Z

QUOTE
Shadows of past lives can get long, but they needn’t darken the present. People know Davey von Bohlen and Dan Didier as half of The Promise Ring, the band that unwittingly resurrected a genre (or at least the name of a genre) and influenced untold numbers of kids to put thinking and feeling and rocking all together in one package. Eric Axelson, meanwhile, made the shimmy shake as the bassist of The Dismemberment Plan. Once again, in case you hadn’t heard: Those bands broke up. But before the carcasses were cold, there was Maritime. A logical extension of where these players had been and, simultaneously, a clean break, the new band feels like freedom—uninterested in restrictions either self-imposed or publicly expected. Maritime made their first record right away, and Glass Floor (released in early 2004) gently hummed with life and pop and good cheer. In its simplicity, it felt like a gentle kiss-off, a mostly happy stroll that was content to walk a straight line. Bands could make records just like it forever, and the world would be a better place. But what to do for album number two, when the shadow cast by past triumphs is shorter and expectations (both public and private) don’t feel as weighty as they once did? Here’s what you do: You make We, The Vehicles—a triumphant realization of Maritime’s unlabored goal and an occasional turn toward the darker, denser corners of years past. That’s right: We, The Vehicles isn’t all sunshine and bubbles. Maritime remains solidly tethered to pop perfection, but has taken space to let that pop cycle through all its permutations. They’re all here: “Parade Of Punk Rock T-Shirts” grabs a ska beat and twists it into wistful nostalgia—it would sound amazing sung by Gwen Stefani, seriously. “Tearing Up The Oxygen,” written shortly before it was recorded, mixes “ahh-ahhs” and keyboard blips into palpable longing. “Young Alumni” and the shiny “We Don’t Think, We Know” deliver the pop goods, and then “German Engineering” flips the script with remarkably stoic strangeness. (You didn’t know these guys could do that, did you?) The dark “No One Will Remember You Tonight” even glances back at von Bohlen’s imagistic, early lyrical style. Then there’s album-opener “Calm,” which is anything but: It declares, “We are powerful despite our injuries,” and then goes on—with help from We, The Vehicles’ other terrific songs—to prove it. Maritime may have a collective history to both cling to and run from, but with We, The Vehicles, the band steps forcefully into its own. More than a side project or an “ex-members of,” it proves beyond a doubt that this is something viable and vital on its own. As George Michael so wisely said: Listen without prejudice. You’ll be glad you did. – Josh Modell, Chicago, November 2005

It either wasn't finished by then or Pharrell realized he wanted to tune it up a little (meaning that it sucked and wanted to fix it). I can't remember what he told Billboard or MTV exactly

Is that the actual disc, or just the "In My Mind (Prequel)" mixtape that recently dropped? My guess would be the mixtape, as I've seen nothing about the album leaking yet.

BTW, I noticed that Ben Kenney (of Incubus, formerly the Roots) just released a solo album. Anyone know if it's worth checking out?

A proper PJ - PJ leaked. Sounds 100x better. For example, I just noticed the chorus riff of Comatose is a total rip of You Wreck Me.

yeah, lotta people have mentioned that

while it does sound 100x better, the retail will def sound even better, you can tell it's got that dry/trebly WMA sound to it (it's a transcode from 192kbps DRM WMA's). you can buy it legally (although i'm sure they're going to get in trouble) off woolworths.co.uk

Oh yes, it really does deserve an OMG...Not as good as AEnima, but exceeds Lateralus. Definitely worth downloading a better program for...Of course, using iTunes, i do not have this problem...i would highly recommend itunes, by the way...Is the program itself free? Either way, ipods are great too. So pretty much, pay 200 dollars to essentially hear the new Tool album for free. tongue.gif

What is a YMP.media file? They won't play on Windows media Player and can't burn onto a Cd through Roxio's Easy CD Creator. I've asked the question on a couple of other threads and have yet to get an answer. Sorry for my ignorance.

I saw this over on ucfk.org as well... gave it a listen and it's pretty good.

"At last, the debut solo album proper from this rare and unusual Mancunian singer songwriter who played with such acclaimed guitar-girl outfits as Kill Laura and Misty Dixon, and was one of the inspirational Andy Votel-managed Twisted Nerve label's first signings. Working and playing with the likes of Badly Drawn Boy and Doves she recorded this beautiful and fragile album, which featured the boys themselves as backing musicians, but was never released at the time of recording due to the death of impresario Rob Gretton and subsequently his Manchester Records label (to whom she had been signed) Now it's finally available through Bird and Cherry Red, we can hear its shimmering, kaleidoscopic, Farfisa-drenched beauty and its subdued guitars. Miss at your peril."
