I'm digging it so far...but yeah i'd have to agree they seem to have lost the signature sound from the first album. Can't wait to hear track 5 on the CD or a better rip, should be a good one.

i can't believe i am typing this, but i am gonna wait for a nice version. this is worse than if it didn't leak at all!

it's not bad, just a bit tinny on the highs in spots, prolly a webrip

what differences are there between the first record and this one? they sound very similar to this untrained ear.

it's missing a lot of the jangly/angular/really upbeat rock stuff that dominated much of the first record.
only track on this one that remind me of the first a lot is Yes/No (which i don't like)

the uptempo tracks are a bit more full sound than on the last one as well

this one reminds me of early Cure in spots (vocally moreso)

I liked Thursday the most after the first listen...kinda had a little hint of a 60's vibe mixed in with it's 80's thing...i dunno i liked it.

this just confirms what i've always thought: The Futureheads are a boring, generic British band.


and they always were, i never liked that first album, including the Hounds of Love cover.

So true. First album was highly disappointing. As i've said before, sounds like a garage band who doesn't really have a chance to make it, only with better production.

Good to see a fairly big release has brought a conveyer belt of tossers to leech again.

More constructivly anyone that gets hands on something that's likely to run out quickly use another method that doesn't run out and use ysï for the less popular stuff.

their first album was interesting. the sound kind of stood out from other bands back than and it also had some decent tunes. loved the singles from it, but the new one is kind of plain.

see, i found the first one to be pretty derivative/unoriginal for the most part...
