I know I have the last one, but don't remember anything about it. That's probably not a good sign....

the one from last year was a b-sides/rarities deal, but the one from '04 was fantastic imo

has the wolfmother album been posted? i couldnt find it anywhere. i am kinda of interested in hearing what all the buzz is abt. if someone could hook this up that would be cool.

Ha, all the buzz so far consists of me and Saskadelphia

I don't remember if it was posted here or not, but if no one else does it I can probably YSI it later.
Bobzilla
The new Concretes made me smile. This is a good thing.

It doesn't tinker much with the sound of the last album. Maybe more ambitious and a little lighter and brighter in the songwriting and the arrangements. Oh, and some of the other band members sing lead on a few songs. At first listen, it's a bit dull and samey in spots. But "Fiction", "Ooh La La" and "Song For The Songs" are fantastic.

The album was posted here...I don't know if the rapidshare links have expired, or not. If it's not available, maybe I'll post the album sometime here.
matvonthies
doh, i d/l it and it was just a .txt file called "wolfmother". oh well thanks for the help.

I went back and listened to that yesterday, still doesn't do it for me. As much as I love the VU, I can't seem to get into newer bands that ape their sound (The Concretes, The Kills, The Raveonettes, etc). The track I heard from their new one sounds a little more indie pop, so I'll give it a try.

hmm... that's what i thought the first one sounded like (nice indie pop)

they kinda reminded me of The Delgados

Does anyone have a link for the new Josh Ritter album? I'm really excited about that one... Thanks!

Nice work on putting that list together.

It's just a shame you actually lifted it off this site:

The promos were sent out over a week ago and I'm assuming that the leak should be coming within the next few days. I'm asking if anyone has heard about it.
issachar
I am going to abstain from picking up the leak (the lips) when it happens.. unless everybody pans it and I feel I have nothing to be dissappointed about. This one's too important to me to lose the thrill of running out and picking it up. I don't feel that way about many releases.

I know it's 2005, if not earlier, but can someone be cool enough to up the Fiona Apple demo version of the new record? I don't have it, and bought the studio release. I will take care of any requests you guys have.

3 tracks from the new Grandaddy:

http://download.yousendit.com/9FCB5B2626B0503D

first one, Jeez Louise rocks pretty hard for Grandaddy. not TOO big on it, but it's not bad. LOVE the second one, Summer... It's Gone, and the third is just a short instrumental. guessing the rest isn't far behind.
Montana
Thx for that. Not sure what I think at this point. there definitely seems to be much punchier production on this one versus Sumday. The Diary of Todd Zilla took a long time for me to "get ", so I'll try and reserve judgement on this.
Montana
I really like that synth break though in Summer...it's gone. If the Fambly Cat has lots of that I will enjoy it. If on the other hand it turns into "Sumday part 2", I'm not going to be very fond of it. I like Sumday quite a bit, but only in certain moods.
solace
i def liked Sumday quite a bit. no it wasn't as good as Sophtware, but still a good album, just a bit poppier.
Saskadelphia
The Grandaddy tracks sound promising. Thanks for posting them!

can anyone re-up Fambly Cat? It appears to be down already. Thank you and goodnight.

Fambly Cat's okay. I'm not exactly bowled over, but it has its moments. "Summer" and "Disconnecty" are great.

That "meow meow" chorus in whatever song that is is going to wear thin awfully quickly.
