I've got the new Everclear album and I think it's pretty darn good. Much better than their last release, that's for sure. I'll y'all send the thing a couple of tracks later. I know most people on here don't like the band, but I have a soft spot in my heart for a large portion of their catalog.

Is this a different sound or does everything sound just like everything else they've done? Any other songs about his father/childhood? I'm morbidly curious, even though I've not liked anything since Sparkle & Fade. That was a damn good album.

Neither did i, Slackmo. i found that most people kind of had a soft spot for the band, despite kind of knowing they shouldn't. Personally, i haven't enjoyed an Everclear album since "So Much For The Afterglow". i'm actually kind of surprised they're still making music, although i'm not sure why.

I have a feeling you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment. I liked the first album, but I got an email from them (somehow I'm on their mailing list) letting me hear four songs (maybe they were clips), none of them being good at all. Lyrically abysmal (some song about America, do we need another Brit singing about being here on tour, oh it's so big, etc), nothing interesting musically. I could be totally wrong, but I felt literally nothing from what I heard. I will probably download it when it leaks to confirm this feeling.

Well, since it doesn't come out in the states for another couple of weeks I wait to hear it considering I love the last one and have heard nothing but goods things about this one. It's easily one of the albums I've been anticipating the most this year.
