besides, them and the Deftones are the only good thing to come from that whole "Korn scene"
Deftones were never a part of that 'scene'.
Snot and Kilgore were better than any of them.

Youth Group - Casino Twilight Dogs
Youth Group are at the forefront of an exciting new era in Australian alternative music.
based on the description given, let me be the first to say FUCK YOU AND YOUR INDIE ROCK GOULASH, STREET TEAMER!
Hey, IF ONLY street teamers would give links to full albums (um, without any sort of nefarious scheme to expose the greymarket distributors and clients), it'd be fine, but instead, it's usually the horseshit of "You've never heard of me before, but you should trust me that this band fuckkin' rooolz! Go to their website and check them out!".
Youth Group are okay, btw. Their album "Skeleton Jar" did not exactly convert me to them, but I didn't trash or burn it off immediately, either. I would have seen them at Coachella, but they were competing against (I think) Giant Drag and Be Your Own Pet. Maybe this here YG album will be the difference maker.

I saw them in a record shop two years ago with about 10 other people and spoke to Johnny about Dylan for ten minutes. I know he comes across as an ass in print but he seemed ok that day.
Haven't listened to it yet, not overly impressed with the singles and Q's 5 star review just puts me off frankly. '85-'94 is much more important.

I stumbled across this album a couple of days ago and was quite shocked about how they bluntly ripped-off Dylan's classic song "Like a Rolling Stone". Just listen to track 3. Before they started singing I thought "thats gonna be one sucky cover", but then I found out they proclaim its a different song now, called "Let It Go". And when I thought this was it, track 4 started ("Start Today Tomorrow") sounding like "High & Dry". Now thats too bad, because the first two songs were great.
Edit: I'm talking about "Casino Twilight Dogs" of course.

Oh shit, you're right about "Start Today Tomorrow" . . . It's "High & Dry" except going more understated at the choruses rather than pitching it up.
Yeah, this isn't the most original stuff ever. Better than a lot of stuff coming out these days, but unremarkable.

I downloaded, I listened, I deleted. Exactly what I expected to do. None of the songs are memorable, Borrell's voice is samey and grating, and lyrically, it just runs in place. Sounds like a middle of the road cash-in, though I was surprised to hear "fuck" in the last song. Those hyperbolic statements he made about being the best songwriter in Britain or of his generation or whatever are pretty well dashed by this album.
