im just popping in to pass along this lil ditty that a friend of mine sent me. i dont have the time or energy to check if it has already passed through these parts, so im just going to post it anyways.

Oh yah, it is a LEAKED SWAN LAKE TRACK!!!!! [the Krug/ Mercer/ Bejar collabo]

The song is effin good, sounds very Sunset Rubdown-esque. The only complaint i have with it is that it sounds too much like SR (and that is hardly a complaint, given that Shut Up is currently my album of the year). Mercer and Bejar seem absent. It will be interesting to see how the album flows if its going to sound this disjointed (ex. Krug track--> Mercer track--> Bejar track--> repeat).

So yah, enjoy!

the kasabian album got pushed up a week so maybe it will leak sooner now, really wanna hear it. yeah the rapture album is going to be insane, then the beck album is close as well. I wonder which of these will surface first??

What are you talking about? The album's not out until October. Separation Sunday came out just a year ago...show some patience.

Ever since it was mentioned, I haven't been able to stop pining for the new Hold Steady.

Plus, both of them had their review copies go out, so that's why I'm saying overdue.

Something tells me the advances are heavily watermarked. Labels are getting better at that.

How far in advance of its release does the average album leak? Usually it's more than two months. Therefore, I agree with his statement that the new Hold Steady is overdue and raise my longstanding offer to pay the leaker from $100,000 to $200,000.

Yeah, I'll get right on that.

It's not going to happen. The clipped version is the review version. No one will have the full album before the actual release. And even then, it's going to be such a royal pain in the ass to sift through slsk or whatever in order to find the full version, you'll be better off buying the cd. That's Matador's strategy, I'm fairly certain.
It's only going to be a matter of time before labels start figuring out some workable solutions for all this leakage, so enjoy what you can while it lasts, folks.
