Kasabian - Empire

Now all 2 of you besides me who are interested in this can give it a try. Like I said a few posts up, wish it was longer but overall really good and different than the first album. I would give a full review but I don't feel they have enough love here for it to be justified,

I'm not sure which I like better, but I will say this dosen't have the same style as the debut. they are trying to be primal scream, oasis and kasabian on this one.

Oh and I just was looking at the info. of the songs (I knew it didn't sound right) and this .rar is MONO, so hopefully the real one will hit oink in a week or so.

I'm looking forward to hearing this, with guarded expectations. I liked Sean's first album well enough when it came out years ago, and I've been wondering what he's been up to since the Cibo chatter went quiet.

it's really different... there's no bossa nova... and there's no cibo matto, i suppose. i quite like it.

To show you how far he's fallen, I can't even remember the name of the last album. Maybe because his acting career and involvement with Chappelle's Show was more interesting than the last album. Wait, was the last one his attempt to do a "rock album"?

I got a stereo version of the kasabian but its not the retail...it sounds like someone ripped it from the myspace site.....I'll wait for it to hit oink before I post a link to a good one. "stuntman" and "shoot the runner" are quite good, and "doberman" is by far the best track thay have ever recorded.

I find the album to be a mixed bag some of it is rather blah and boring but other parts are great...as a whole i think i prefer their first record. Maybe when I hear a better sound quality version I might hear some things in the blah songs to like who knows.

Hey, I'm one of those aforementioned Decemberists-haters... just downloaded the new one because of all the positive comments, looking forward to being turned into a believer (hopefully).

I'm sorry to say that Jeremy Enigk has lost his touch. I'm very disappointed in the new album. I fucking hope the same is not true of Sean Lennon, whose first album is one of my all-time favorites. Thanks to all the folks sharing this great shit! Let me know if I can return the favor...

i like the new Decemberists AND the new Sean Lennon. I still can't believe how much the latter sounds like his father in some instances. it's erie.

yeah I like it a lot actually, took a few times (I wanted it to be more electronic like the first album) but I respect the way they changed the sound.
