Remember the breathless anticipation of waiting for an album to be released? Getting to a record store right when it opened, tearing the shrink wrap and sliding it into the car player right there in the parking lot?
Now we complain about the shitty fidelity of the music we misappropriate while it weakly and anti-climactically bleeds out into the market weeks before the artist intends.

No it's not that. It's broadband. I remember when How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb leaked. I still had dialup. I remember waiting ages for that to download. I was sitting around, just staring at the screen. Imaging how great the album would be.
Man what a letdown that was.

i get more excited by leaks than i ever did going to the record store... granted growing up having to drive 2 hours to the closest record store probably didn't help, but still, a big leak still excites me a lot

The Drones :
Gala Mill (September 4, 2006)QUOTE
Having spent much of 2005 and 2006 touring the US and Europe in support of their Australian Music Prize-winning album ‘Wait Long By The River And The Bodies Of Your Enemies Will Float By’, The Drones mark their return to Australia with the release of their much-anticipated third album, Gala Mill.
Recorded in a mill on an isolated 10,000 acre farm on Tasmania’s east coast, Gala Mill is an album full of extremes - moments of stark, ghostly beauty are set against outbursts of the dark, intense noise for which the band is renowned. The album’s sense of place is palpable - barking dogs and birdsong are heard between tracks, and the island’s history and atmosphere resonate through the songs.

word. is this any good? killers are good i suppose, until all the tweeny bops found out about them, and then it was plastered everywhere.
suprisingly, pretty solid. not sure if it has any breakout songs to push sales, but a pretty decent record nonetheless. the "bonus tracks" are pretty much garbage though.
Yeah I'm pretty pleased with this half-way in. Like you said I don't think it has anything groundbreaking but overall not a bad album. I thought this thing would blow so as long as the second half is as decent as the first I'll be pleased.

it doesn't need any. "mr. brightside" will sell this album.

Is it just me, or does the dude from The Killers voice sound a lil Robin Zander on sssome of these tracks?

I really hate to admit this, but The Killers album is surprisingly good.

great point.
oh, and tystu, i would say the second half actually has some stronger tracks than the first. the song
why do i keep counting is amazing! it's kinda like
all these things that i've done pt. 2! amazing!

Sam's Town is gonna divide a lot of people. You'll either love it's crazy over the top ridiculousness or you'll hate it like Rolling Stone. I think it's great, and Bones is gonna be a massive single.

I think it has about 6 above average songs on it. The really good songs aren't as good as the ones on the debut baring WYWY and "Why Do I Keep Counting"

Is it just me or does the escalation from verse to chorus on "Bones" sound exactly like early Muse? Sounds like it was ripped directly from Showbiz.

Anyone know if the new Solomon Burke leaked yet?

Well it hasn't leaked yet but
Mos Def has two new tracks up for preview. Undeniable is really good. Sun, Moon, and Stars features Mos singing agian... but it's not as bad as The New Danger was. I'm not ready to say it's good yet... but I can see it growing on me.
