Hips
Hey all...some friends and i are trying to set up a pub crawl that revolves around the red line. we are looking to hit places within about a block of the red line stops. we have a few places in mind but some suggestions would be great. hey, maybe we will open it up to sombies as well.

no go!!

i'm sure jigga will have some ideas on the 95th street end. he's good like that.

buffalo bar at the heartland cafe is pretty good. lots of choices with reasonable prices.

that's at the morse stop, but walk down to the lunt (north) exit. it's about 1/4 of a block west of the exit.

lawrence has green mill and crew (if you're into gay sports)

addison has cubs bars

i've never been south of the roosevelt stop, so i can't help you much there.

gotta hit up the Uptown Lounge at Lawrence!

fullerton really doesn't have anything right by the stop, surprisingly.

clark/division has all of that stuff, shenanigans, bar chicago, hangups, etc, etc, etc

if you walk up the SW stairs at Grand you're going straight to Rock Bottom. dig it.

Hit the Holiday Club at Sheridan. It's about two doors north of the El stop

Great idea

Maybe this is obvious, but if you've got a good sized group (15 or more) give all of the bars a call or stop in a couple weeks in advance. If you tell them you're considering bringing a pub crawl there, and ask if they'd be willing to offer you guys some sort of special -- they usually will. Might mean you have to spring for wristbands or something to ID those in your group, but it's usually worth it.

The London Undeground Circle line Pub Crawl is a classic for the ages. 26 stops and you can buy T-Shirts.

This should be the last stop. 2:30 - 3 in the morning is the best time to go.
Avoid the early night shhh- be quiet hours.

Too bad they closed the best packaged goods bar of all - J&R, former home of Crapple. sad.gif

Along the red line - L&L Tavern and The Big City Tap at belmont/clark and belmont/sheffield are must stops

that could come in handy since it's the end of the line and by then a cup of coffee and a mcgriddle could really come in handy. i doubt we could get that far though.

Skinny, T-shirts are fine, but cups are cheaper. You can get plastic cups with your logo, the bar schedule, curse words, whatever for like 10 cents each.

D#mn! Y'all know how to do it up right! I'm taking notes here. Never thought of doing group identifiers and asking for deals.

Yeah. I don't get out much. *sigh*
