Alright, Aftershock, what's the appeal of Hall & Oates?
I know there are a few others who share your interest on the board.
Honestly, I really don't know. It could be any number of things. Like, their production, song arrangement and vocal harmonies are pretty tight. Maybe it's just me re-living the pop music of my jr. HS days. In all honesty, they only have like a few songs on each album that really cook - most of the rest all sound like filler. And I can't stand their take on "You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin'" - but then again, I always hated that song.
I think it all started last month when, for no reason, the song "I Can't Go For That" got stuck in my head for days. So I picked up the remastered, and damn if that track still ain't one of the smoothest pop recordings ever.
And on the flip side, I'm listening to this in preparation for the concert tonight:

I was afraid of this, and not in the way Jourgensen intended. I've been regaining my interest in Ministry a lot in the past few years, but the new RevCo CD was mostly noise and not anywhere
near the dancefloor-friendly material of their previous efforts. And this new Ministry album is even more so. Maybe I'll get more into it upon further listening, but the record doesn't get very interesting until the 3rd cut, and it seems like Al + co are really,
really into the whole "cookie-monster" vocals these days. So far, I haven't found a lot of groundbreaking stuff on this one.
