It's a cd subscription service offered online. You get charged 6.99 (or somethin like that, I think) to your credit card and they send you one cd a month. I went there and filled up my shopping queue with a years worth of music. It's worth it if you like jazz, classical, or more mainstream stuff. There selection is decent, and it's no hassle.

A better comparison would be with the Columbia House/BMG Music clubs (it actually is owned by BMG), except instead of getting the pick of the month CD mailed to you for full club price, you get to pick what you're going to get and only pay $6.99. If there is a lot of major label stuff that you want to pick up for less than half of what you'd pay for at Best Buy or somewhere similar, it's a really good deal.

Mark Hollis is so beyond fantastic, its strange that no one really talks about it, whenever they mention Talk Talk.

Yeah, it's pretty much what I expected. A more intimate version of Talk Talk's later period. It's met my high expectations for it.

and then I listened to "Amber" about a thousand times off of this album....

And then I listened to The Five EPs. Cover art would be nice, sure, but YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT, as Mick Jagger once sang before he pushed Keith Richards out of a palm tree. Also, The Five EPs is amazing. Or "are" amazing. Er...

Listen to Mount Eerie immediatly after. both discs are amazing. The Glow Pt. 2 is one of my favorite discs of all time. I listened to it twice last night, and woke up with a rubber end piece of my ear phones lodged in my ear canal...side story for you. It was hot, dont wake me, and blood (?) are all very good too.

I'll definitely have to check those out too. I'm relatively new to the whole Microphones thing, but if The Glow Pt. II is any indication of the rest of their catalogue, then i forsee a long and beautiful relationship budding...

I'm enjoying this album immensely, but I have to say that a lot of it sounds like it could have easily been done by Journey in the '80s, just with weird lyrics.

Not that that's a bad thing, just sayin'.. smile.gif
