is anybody else jealous of Mr. Nobody and all of his "first listens" that he is posting in here... so many great records.
Yep, see his explanation upthread. My opinion: He's going too fast and needs to give these albums more time--both the ones that he likes and the ones he dislikes.
I give everything at least two listens and I've gotten to the point where I only have one more album left to listen that's new to me(Arthur). So soon I'll be giving multiple visit's to some of this stuff(I'm a little strapped for cash on this paycheck and I have gotten the feeling that I need to slow down a little. I do try to give everything at least two-three listens before deciding if it's something I'm going to spend a lot of time listening too and then further revisions in the future when necessary.). Also, I listen to other stuff that I just don't get around to posting about(I would say I listen to about 3-7 albums a day,But I only post about four.).I do understand growers and I have some albums that took a while for me to get into,But they did eventually payoff(Velvet Underground & Nico,Clouds Taste Metallic, etc).I try my best to enjoy an album before I completely disregard it(I did after all spend money on it so might as well re-listen a few times.).
Another reason to be jealous of Mr Nobody: He has time to listen to this much music

Second Listen. I really like the guitar work here and I'm slowly warming up to Rollins vocal style(There's this part in Damaged I where he says"No one gets in. Keep out!" that is particularly chilling.).Lots of good songs here, and Rollins anger really shows through out these songs(Did he have a messed up life or what?).The whole atmosphere of the last song(Damaged I) really shows off a dark side to Rollins personality. Standout Tracks:Rise Above,Six Pack,Gimme Gimme Gimme,Damaged I.

Great album! "Padded Cell" and "Life Of Pain" are two of my favorite tracks.
"Six Pack" - One of my favorite musical moments remains the sound when Greg Ginn steps on the distortion pedal after the intro (about 0:40). The blast of feedback is just so fuckin' rawk.

Bee Gees. First time hearing this. Basically a 1968 repackage of their Australia-only 1966 release "Spicks and Specks". And it's blowing my mind.
Apparently, their awesomeness began earlier than I thought.

I gave this a second listen and surprisingly some of this was better this time around(Stuck Between Stations,Same Kooks, and a few others stood out more.).This seems like the party concept album though as almost every song has to do with getting messed or hanging out at party's.
Probably the most consistent of their records. Even if "Call Of Cthullu" goes about two minutes too long.

Second listen. This record really gets even better on the second listen and I no longer feel that "Bright Lights" is too long and several other songs have grown on me(Night Walks,Stay Free). The first four songs are the peak of this record though with "Tyrants" and "Wucan" being the best songs here. A fine release.
A pop classic.I could see myself never ever growing sick of this album. It's just amazing.

Yeah, great album. I think 'Call of Ktulu' is fine for its length; if anything the wak spot for me is the 'Trapped Under Ice'/'Escape' double header. The latter, espeially, is below-par.
