I'm pretty anxious to see what they do next.

Pretty much exactly the same as what they did on Dandelion Gum only a bit less colourful/varied and certainly with a whole lot less novelty this time around.
King Of All Detectives

HEY WHITE BOY.
_______
i've been playing this 2002 record late at nite... one of the better twisted rock records released by a Chicago band during the last ten years... way under-rated

Boas - Mansion
here's a weird little Stones type ballad called "For Sheriff Allison"

QUOTE (franty @ May 22 2009, 05:21 PM) *

_______
local release that is killing me tonite... grinding beats, squealing synths, loops galore, and spacey singing. Undo would dig this one.

Pretty good, summery, idyllictronica. Tobacco's album is much more interesting though.

Just listened to that last week. The venom expressed in "Prayer To God" never fails to amaze me.
"Mama Gina" is also prime Shellac material as it makes you endlessly anticipate some sort of payoff, and when it finally does come during the killer jam at the end, it only lasts for like 50 seconds.
Saskadelphia

This is pretty fun.
sunstung

First listen. Weird, weird, weird. These lyrics... they feel like they should be the soundtrack to a high-school-level Schoolhouse Rock-type video series.
It's so infectious, such great melodies...
