I got this because it was #2 on your list and I've never even heard of it. "Faron Young" is great and then it becomes an easy listening pop album. That's cool.

This has been my now playing selection in my car for the past couple of days for much the same reason (thanks Paves).
Great! If you're familiar with the past two years of Pavement Ist Rad's Discussion Forum postings, you might know that I am constantly urging people to listen to this album. Good to see some folks finally spinning it thanks to my recommendations. Now everybody go check out the first "Weird Al" Yankovic album. "Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung" = the greatest song of all time? Probably not. Way better than MxPx, though.
And "Horsin' Around" is awesome. "I (bum bum bum bum) deserve (bum bum bum bum) to be (bum bum bum bum) kicked!" Easy listening is is definitely an appropriate term. Sometimes I can't believe just how "lush" a lot of the album is. "Desire As," for example. I'm listening to it right now, and I love it, of course. But the Kenny G-ish saxophone? What the hell? It makes it sound even more like cheap 80s porno music than it already does. It just sounds so fucking
dated! I mean, like
Hounds of Love-dated. I love cheesy synths, though. Lots of reverb, the "aah" voice, all that shit. One of the main reasons one of the few 2004 albums I still listen to is
Your Blues. Anyways. Wonderful pop music. If you like wonderful pop music, well, this is the album for you.
