i think this one could be a big hit with a lot of people around here... it's solid.

Good stuff.

They would be my favorite new band in 1991.

I like this better than the other three releases so far. First track is particularly...something, I don't know what exactly. Those hollow snare cracks that show up ~mid way are pretty fucking sweet dude.

If that's OAR004, I heartily concur. A-side is the best thing he's done yet. Can't wait for this dude to drop an album.

Just spinning the 3xLP for the first time and this thing just went up a glass

Yeah, that's the one. TBH though, I'm content w/ a series of a cryptic singles, each pulling at the yarnball of electronic music from a different strand, slowly untangling the mass im gay.
Shackleton's Great Adventure
that song "catcher in the rye" off of chinese democracy is really fucking good. rare to hear people successfully pull off pop songs of that scope.

David Bowie - Christiane F. soundtrack

after seeing the movie last night. I feel a major Bowie kick starting up.

Just amazing art pop. Each of these songs has at least three memorable hooks. I just keep going back to this over and over and it is always good. It's really a bummer these guys don't get the recognition they deserve because these first three records and just really great records.
pigfuck

this is enjoyable as fuck when you actually pay attention to it.
monkeybeat

I picked it up because it was produced by Scott Kemper (from The Del Lords & The Dictators), and it contains a cover of The Dictators' song "Stay With Me". I didn't expect much, but the whole album is pretty good. None of the doo wop sound of Dion's past, instead it's straight up guitar rock. Fans of Springsteen should check it out.

Sun Araw's out there, too, holmes. I guess I'll give the Robedoor a try, though I haven't really enjoyed anything else. I guess I trust you. Or that I want to, anyway. Currently listening to nothing.

oh man. I can't wait to listen. the cover's a winner:

but yeah, do give that Robedoor a try. don't know if you'll dig it or not, but it seems less droney and a little more doomy to me. which I like.

I listened to the first three songs - baseball came on; priorities - and liked what I heard. I was underwhelmed by Sun Ark too, but these songs are more akin to Heavy Deeds imo. Good stuff. Maybe a little more dub oriented than psych, but - again - I've only listened to the first three tracks. I can't foresee a situation where this isn't in my top ten come the end of the year.

UselessRocker

I go back to this a lot, but I've really been obsessed with it this week.

Most underrated part of that record (by me, 'cause I always forget about it): the last minute of "13 Months in 6 Minutes".
