Black Breath,
Heavy Breathing. Pretty awesome.
I am currently listening to this, getting excited about seeing these guys with Converge on Sunday.

Had no idea this existed until I stumbled across it in the record store today. If there are any other High on Fire/Sleep/Neurosis fans out there who, like me, missed this one, it's well worth checking out.

That's funny, I'm seeing Converge next week w/ Coalesce (which seems like the better pairing, imo). But yeah, good album.

I'm not. I guess I should be...? Just finally listened to a few Royal Trux records, last weekend. One of those bands that I've always actively wanted to investigate for years and years and years, but never actually did. Until last weekend. Same thing with The Melvins and scores of others. For whatever reason, it's just never happened. One'a them things, right? Maybe it has something to do with the letter M. Been sitting on some Mekons stuff for years, too. Never once played it. Gotta get on it.

fantastic.
"Don't go playing with me emotionally,/or I will make you bleed internally," is, for some reason, a genuinely touching couplet. Dude was hopeless, but he actually had good songs, way back at the start of things.

Memory Almost Full for me. By an insanely wide margin. I actually listen to it way more than any of his other records. Like half the album consists of some of my favorite songs he's done ("Only Mama Knows," "The End of The End," "Feet In The Clouds," "Ever Present Past," "See Your Sunshine," really all the songs are keepers.) One of my favorite albums of the '00s.
Driving Rain is okay but I never play it. His backing band sounds good but it's too long and I only really dig a few tracks. Not one of my favorites.
Chaos & Creation is very good, though.

I have - a few times. It's just not connecting.
I may have lost the thread with these guys. Can't even remember the last LP they released that I truly loved.

Hostile Ambient Takeover and (A) Senile Animal were up there with their best for me.
I might like this new thing about as much as Nude With Boots. Which is to say, not all that much. Need to hear it a couple more times but I'm starting to think that Dale and Buzz would be better off reconfiguring their lineup. That's one of the main ways they've kept things fresh over the years and frankly, I'm kind of tired of the two drummer thing.
