It's a budget priced (download only) charity album that actually contains some great tunes. Worth it for the Sonic Graffiti, Organ Beats & Tragedy tracks alone.

Couldn't quite use it ^ in the best opening track/debut album thread but god damn is this a kickass debut album (if you don't count the preceding split & demo).
Also most excellent.

David Thomas Broughton, Boating Disasters. Goddamn, I adore this dude. One of my favorite new artists of the past decade and one of my favorite lyricists period. Amazing voice. Can't believe he's stuck doing customer service for London transport instead of releasing album after album of brilliant material. Guess there's a new record out sometime this year. Can't wait. And it'd be nice if 5 Curses saw the light of day eventually. For those not familiar with his work, download The Complete Guide To Insufficiency, It's In There Somewhere, and David Thomas Broughton vs. 7 Hertz, asap.

what a perfect album. probably my favorite of all time.
M.I.A., Maya. I dug her first two albums for the most part so I thought it'd be a good idea to put on the new one and go for a run. Not so much. Doltish, abrasive, entirely devoid of hooks. Just an incredibly unpleasant record. I can't imagine ever wanting to listen to it again.
