How is this? Fairly curious.

I'm really liking this album alot. It is indeed abrasive, but id say it is slightly less so than Crimes, which was slightly less abrasive than Burn Piano Island, Burn, and so on. Who knows, at this rate the Brothers may have a radio-friendly album in them yet. Certain standouts, like "Lazer Life" and "Spit Shine Your Black Clouds", rank up there among my favourite Blood Bros. tracks. Highly recommended.

A.R. Kane - i

Sat around listening to this album last night and realized that not only is the first quarter fantastic, the rest of the album is pretty damn good too. I'd never really payed attention to how good In a Circle, Miles Apart, and a couple others in the last half are. It's a bit long, so I always kinda drifted off after that amazing first quarter... According to AMG, it looks like this was reissued in 2004. Anyone know if it was remastered? Or just rereleased?

I know I said I'd upload this a while back, and I did, but I forgot about it and the link got deleted, so I'm gonna try to get it uploaded during the afternoon.

And here's that link: hxxp://www.sendspace.com/file/pbmra4

What the hell is "Wizard's Brew"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wizzard

It was Roy Wood's post-Move band -after he splintered off from ELO. I see a Y$I in your future.

from wikipedia:
In approach, the album was much more experimental than the group's hit singles, with elements of hard rock (an approach Wood's previous band The Move had explored on their 1970 album 'Looking On'), and improvisation, especially on the lengthy 'Meet Me At The Jailhouse'. Wood frequently used ring modulation to give the instruments a harsh, distorted sound, and the album may represent an early foray into recording technique that would eventually be called lo-fi. Critical and popular reaction was mixed.

No kidding. It's a pretty bizarre record.

Interesting. I'm a fan of the Move, but I never heard of that band. The album cover looked so insane - I would never have guessed Wood was involved.

I agree. The songs, coupled with the horrible album cover, just shows that they really didn't try very hard. First album was alright, this is just a fuck you to the fans, or a fuck up. Either way, bad move.

Badly Drawn Boy - One Plus One Is One. This might be a sort of BDB day, haven't decided yet, but after this I'm going to quickly spin this:

Liz Phair - comeandgetit EP. Probably her last worthwhile release, and not even properly done. A download with her self-titled album, though I guess it was actually released on her tour.

^ That Liz EP actually pissed me off, because it proved she could still write good music but is willfully choosing not to.
Music Saves
Then she can fuck right off! I'm tired of being pissed off by her recent output. I know it's already discussed in the Fuck n Run thread, but really, fuck you, Liz.

Anyways, another thing that pisses me off, and is now playing:
IPB Image
Dirty Pretty Things - Waterloo To Anywhere. I like the album, and for $7.99 it was a steal, but the swapping of Doctors and Dealers and Gin 'n Milk on the tracklist (why do they do that???) and the absence of B.U.R.M.A. (I know it was a UK bonus track, but wtf, it might be the best song on the album) makes me wish I just got the damn import months ago. I know I'll end up buying it again in the future, which even pisses me off more.
