I listened to this today.
Very good music.
Also, Tony's Last.fm thing reminds me of how I listened to this a few days ago...

Let's talk about Smog for a second. I don't really care for
Knock Knock. There was a thread last year where I declared it to be my favorite Smog album. Since then, I have changed my mind. I loved it because of its diversity, but I realize now that the only songs I really like are the "diverse" ones. "Let's Move To The Country," "Held," "No Dancing," "Cold Blooded Old Times," and "Hit The Ground Running," to be more specific. They all sound like Callahan is trying to make some sort of pop masterpiece, but the rest of the album is just slow and lifeless and I can't sit through it.
Of course,
The Doctor Came At Dawn (the album pictured above) is also pretty slow and lifeless, but I fucking love it. Smog is good. I should have ranked
A River Ain't Too Much To Love higher on my year-end list last year. Something tells me that that record is only going to grow better over time.
