Wikipedia:
The Nazz was an early psychedelic garage rock band from the 1960s. The band was formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1967 by Todd Rundgren (lead guitar) and Carson Van Osten (bass guitar). Thom Mooney (drums, formerly of the Munchkins) and Robert "Stewkey" Antoni (vocals, keyboard) joined before their first concert, opening for the Doors in 1967.

Marketed by their manager, Michael Friedman, as a teenybopper boy band, the Nazz signed with SGC Records, releasing Nazz in 1968. The album was not successful and neither was the first single, "Hello It's Me". After a brief trip to England cut short due to visa problems, the Nazz recorded their second album, Fungo Bat. The album was originally a double album but was shortened to a single LP before being released as Nazz Nazz.

Thanks, Sid. I've always meant to check out the Nazz, but never have for some reason.

Very cool stuff.

Huh? I like the parody cover (Is that Jacko with the baby?).
Does this album really exist?

I think someone's playing a trick on me. Cool cover, though.

Hey, you never know it could've been some Plunderphonics project or something.

So what's your take?

I kind of enjoyed it. I listened to it once and then accidentally (is that a sign?!) deleted it.

I'll grab it again.
solace
yeah it's actually not nearly as awful as i'd expected...

few songs are, and her annoying catchphrases make me want to stab my ears out, but her voice (all auto-tuned i'm sure) isn't that annoying at all

shows you that money can even buy you a fairly decent writtten & sounding album these days

dunno if you're familiar w/ her or not ryan, but you'd dig her if not i think. last record had a killer cover of Dylan's "your'e gonna make me lonesome when you go", along w/ her super haunting cover of Elliott's "Between The Bars"
ryan
I've heard a couple tracks of hers and her cover of "Between The Bars" is a favorite of mine.

That voice is fucking irresistable.
Alky 2009
I haven't listened to all of it, but I love "Stars Are Blind". I mean, I shouldn't because:

1. it's Paris Hilton
2. the beat is just so... boring
3. it's overproduced
4. there's really nothing special about it

But its like a perfect summer song or something. I don't know, but it's really growing on me.
solace
yeah, i mean the Billie influence is obvious, but her voice isn't as "baby-ish" like Billie's was (much like that whatsherfaces... Newsome or whatever), much much more smooth and easily enjoyable

i kinda wanna see her in Oct, but it's at a bigger theater for $35+, i missed my chance at a jazz club 2 years ago here "oh she'll be back, i don't care to spend $25 at some uppity jazz club"

oops

edit: holy fuck her cover of Nilsson's "Everybody's Talking" is gooooooood

yeah, that one reminded me of Gwen Stefani (if i'm thinking of the same track?)

the 2nd to last track is pretty awful, and the cover of Do Ya Think I'm Sexy is pretty banal (not to mention Paris gives me a stiffie about as much as Hick does)

She got played quite a bit on XRT in Chicago and that usually means "bigger venues."

Oh well -- maybe she'll disappear for another couple years (or whatever it was she did with that 'missing' thing that got a bit of news for, awhile back), return to forgetful fans, and be forced to revisit the smaller clubs.

It is actually in my all time top five.
But that is probably 99% because of it being one of my first albums I ever owned, so it has all these emotional connections that make it special. I bet to most people it is a pretty good alt. rock record, but nothing amazing.
