Sibylle Baier- "Colour Green"

just ordered this one after hearing a few songs. wow.

from orange twin records' site:

"Colour Green" was recorded in Germany in the 1970-1973.

In a particularly dark and moody period of her young life, Claudine, a friend of Sibylle's, dragged her out from under the bed and took her on a road trip to Strasbourg, ending up across the Alps in Genoa.

Upon the return from this trip Sibylle felt her sprits renewed and she set out to write the song "Remember the Day", grateful for being alive. It was the first song she ever wrote. Her music is simply amazing in its intimacy and closeness. Recorded in the late 70's in her home on a reel to reel recording device, the songs on "Colour Green" are intimate portraits of life's sad and fragile beauty. It is a gem of an album that will blow your mind. Sibylle is a star who chose to shine for her friends and family instead of the whole world.

^^ My music server at home played "Matchbox" from this set yesterday - Ringo's so shit-hot on the BBC version.

Yeah, I love all the goofy intros. i have a bootleg with all the rest of thr BBC sessions they did on it but I always come back to the official release. Tracks were well chosen I think.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to catch them, but I'm kicking myself now. Nothing they've released so far has been outstanding, but these guys have loads of talent and I could see them putting on a great show. I think the next album could really be something special. Their cover of "Cora" on that split is wonderful.

I thought the movie was pretty average. Travolta plays the typical struggling artist genius w/ a drinking problem. Kind of odd casting. I liked the way the movie was shot on location in New Orleans.

As for the soundtrack, I have no idea.
